I got to gold for the first time ever hoping to get victorious aatorx, but I am 1 checkpoint away from honor level 2 and the season ends in 3 days. how the hell do you level up in honors?? i remember the first season of the honor system i cruised through every checkpoint and got grey warwick, but the past 2 seasons I have not gotten past honor level 2. people dont even honor you if you ARE honorable, they honor you because you carried them or had a nice kda. imagine having to be on a daily twitch streamer level grind to even just get honor level 2, i mean this shit is taking forever. i also dont get why some people refuse to honor any teammates even though it was a quality match, like wtf just help a homie out with 1 click

The "first" season was supposed to be easy because they implemented it part way through the year. So they expedited the honor progression.

People honor for different reasons. Some will honor the carry or kda. Some may honor their lane partner. Some honor randomly because they don't care and only want the honor boost from honoring/everyone honoring.

I usually honor lane partners if they did well or whoever was helpful in my opinion. Or tried! But I think that the reason why no one honors anyone else is because. The feeling when you honor someone but get none in return even though you did well. If you didn't do well, it'd still be alright. But its worse when you do most of the heavy lifting, honor someone else and yet get nothing in return. And so, this slight tilt carries over to your next game where you do the same as others. Which leads to others being tilted in return and so on, and so forth.

What they could do to try and fix this is. Your honor is only effective to someone if they honored someone else in turn. This would encourage players to begin honoring each other. Of-course, this could be exploited with people trying to exchange honors but I really can't think of anything else.

If you want to progress quickly in honors, in order of importance.

  1. Don't get validly reported
  2. Play lots of games
  3. Display honorable behavior is chat
  4. Get team honors bonus
  5. Get honored

Yes, that's a 10 for getting honored, meaning you getting honored in itself isn't worth much.

Just to let you know, I suspect you still are displaying negative chat and probably don't know you are using chat in a negative manner. This causes you to be validly reported and causes your honors progress to a screeching a halt.

There's still time to get that last checkpoint.

If you display overly positive chat and play lots of games, you might still get it. ASK if you don't know what positive chat is, we're glad to show you.
