The Mute function is a powerful tool to prevent negative chat from bothering you, but it is not an excuse to be toxic; if a player is forced to mute you for being toxic then you've likely already become a problem. Having muted you, they should still report, as muting is to prevent further issue in the current game while reporting is to prevent it from being a problem for others in the future.

If such a someone adds me for that type of thing, all I'll do is accept, say nothing at all & let the guy rant as much as he wants. And when he finishes, I'll start typing "Thanks for the screenshot, now sending this to Riot Support. Glhf :D". That'll get him good.

But what alot of people do is accept it, and then complain on the forums about it. Like.. if some dude is raging at you in game, why would you accept a friend request from him? You often see posts where its like "after the game he added me and kept being toxic!". Its just silly.

That would be partly their own fault if they don't have the nerves to just report to Riot Support instead of being an attention seeker in Boards.
