I was playing a ranked match with every lane losing, my team gives up and said to open mid. I still defend my mid turret, I was then reported for not wanting to give up. I was told that I was being unsportsmanlike, which I was then reported for.
Someone please tell me what I did wrong.
Getting reported by itself doesn't mean anything. The only thing reports do is trigger reviews, if there is nothing to find it will be thrown out.
I got reported as "intentionally feeding" for going 6/10 by somebody who went 5/10 once. I wasn't punished, and I'd be shocked if you were. Don't sweat it, people get salty.
oh you can be reported for anything, even saying mickey mouse.
If thats all you did, then the system will throw the report out as a false report.
I just laugh at others when they say they will report me (gives me a valid reason to report them afterwards)

While I agree all games are winnable, most people don't. Some people will report you for NOT giving up. Reports won't affect you.
Were you punished or just reported? Because if you were just reported and that's all that happened you don't need to worry. If you weren't doing anything wrong you won't be punished.
If you were flaming your team for trying to give up then yeah you could be punished for that. But again, if you're innocent then you have nothing to worry about.
Harden your heart over such accusations for only you truly know the righteousness of your actions
Nothing, I got "reported" once for pushing down all three outer towers in a hard countered game. If I'm the one making three towers down out of a "We are 100% Totally F@#$ed" game what's that make the flamers? Ignore them, nothing in the rules has to say you need to group, and defending a tower and counter pushing is a legal play in the game, let the flamers flame the back side of your steel wall of MUTE BUTTON.
If you simply got reported and didn't act toxic, you're fine.
