New Player Experience
Up to this point, the player experience has been varied, with the majority of the community being toxic it seems. The lower levels, lets say 1-12, everyone is still learning to play and people don't get upset. The minority are the "smurfs" who are just trying to level up as quickly as possible and get to 30 or ranked or whatever they are trying to do.
Now that I am a little higher in level, the toxicity has increased ten fold and the language is abhorrent. I'm sorry I am not a smurf or a pro at this game, but that does not excuse you from calling me or anyone else retarded, autistic, possessing autism, stupid, etc. Yes, I mute them and report them. Oo, and according to these pro players, unless I am smurfing, I am not allowed to play in Mid, Top, Or Adc as I have to leave the carry positions to the smurfs, so they can carry.
But honestly, it feels like my reports have no weight. Nothing seems to be done, and I block a player because of their behavior, just to be matched with them later on. What is the point of blocking them if I continue to get matched with them? Not once, has anyone said a nice thing so far. I have yet to meet a player that has offered to teach/tell me hints, suggestions, how to play better etc. All everyone seems to care about is getting back to 30, get through the games as quickly as possible. Anyone that stands in their way, even their own team mates are a nuisance.
As for me, I am slowly grinding away so I can get one champ. Another problem for another day, champs are way too expensive. Yes there are quite a few 450 champs, but the decent ones are 4800 or more. And maybe I am slow, play around 5-10 games a day, but it is taking me forever to get to 4800. All for one champ, haven't even looked at runes yet.
