is venting your frustration with the enemy team in your own team chat count as toxic??

because apparently thats what my team thinks. it all started with me dying to a 2v4 (me and my support vs 4 enemy teammates that ganked bot) and i was playing jhin and all the enemies were so low i could 2 shot them but they did this little thing i like to call tag, where you run in and poke and before i could auto run out of range, then another teammate pokes me then runs out of range and rinse and repeat until im dead.

now in my exact words what i said in my own team chat was "I CANT FUCKING KILL ANYONE BECAUSE THEIR PLAYING FUCKIN TAG" (im already irritated because ive been on tilt for 2 days now), but did i blame my support? no. did i blame my mid or jglr? no. i simply was venting my frustration towards the enemy team to my own team in team chat.

for some reason this triggered my midlaner and jglr to blame me for katarina and kennen getting fed and said im "everything thats wrong with this community", i got an "idiot", a "kid", "another tyler1" and there was some exchange with me and the mid laner without me cursing at them or being toxic at all just a little disagreement. but a lot of people seem to forget a disagreement between you and another player doesnt automatically make them toxic so you know since strengths comes in numbers the jglr and midlaner decided to take this to all chat and try to get everyone to report me which some of them did because, and i quote "you seemed pretty toxic".....despite me never speaking in all chat...

anyways i didn't get any type of punishment so i dont have the chat logs but thats just something i wanted to ask you guys..why are people so quick to scream toxic when you and them disagree on something? i asked my team to literally quote ONE THING i said that was toxic and they couldnt tell me what i said..to the point where my midlaner literally started making up things to report me on, such as racism and hate speech and told everyone i called my support trash multiple times in the after game lobby (support already left) and i guarantee you i said absolutely NOTHING to my support that whole game, besides maybe a few gameplay calls, im not sure but i defiantly never said anything toxic towards her .

im just a little pissed at how this community is sometimes to the point where it makes me want to go back to playing call of duty i kid you not. i didnt know people acted this way in video games until i started league.

It really does depend on how you word it, and the problem is, often times other people feel the frustration and once someone voices it, that's... like lighting the mountain of powder kegs. Because it's always someone else's fault. I mean, even if you accept you're at fault(but don't say it), and just, as you said, mention how you can't do anything because they kite you for ages... it's someone else's fault. Who has the most deaths? They fed laning phase. Did jungler ever gank? Maybe if we had some ganks we could've finished this. Is botlane afk farming?(let's be fair, sometimes, this is an ADC's job description...) Stupid adc can't even join teamfights.

Really, the only safe place to vent your frustrations... is to the air, vocally. As long as you're not on voice chat, or streaming with a mic, screaming(or growling, if you have to consider other people in your domicile) in frustration and ranting is your best release for frustrations over how a game is going. No one is going to be on you about being toxic for it, no one is going to mock you for feeling frustrated... no one but you will ever know. Right? There's almost no reason to ever type anything in a game, even if it's an accurate and helpful statement, most people will take it as a flame, or a trigger to flame... or so it seems.

And just remember, there's no context to text. There's no tonal inflections, no way to tell if something is literal, sarcasm, joking, saccharine, or whatever. In a high-octane environment--and let's face it, most league matches are this--you have to be sure you're typing the most neutral, non-offending, non-insulting, non-finger pointing way possible. If someone can take it as an offense, or an insult... they will. Simple because that's how they interpret the text, because there is no tone to infer what you actually mean. Might be obvious to you, but it's not obvious to everyone else what your text statement means. :3

tl;dr: Only safe venting space is out-loud off of voice comms/stream platform where only you can hear it.

your chat isn't for emotional therapy and release

In essence, we can't say for certain. Everyone has their own thresholds for what they consider to be report-worthy.

Personally, I would be okay with "Fucking hell, this [enemy player] is pissing me off. They keep diving me over and over. Just fuck off already, damn POS". I would hope that other people are okay (even if not enthused by it), too.

But some people might not be okay with that. They might get bothered that an ally is spamming chat, or want them to just shut up already. It's not my place to say they should be okay with it.

The real concern is the phrasing. If you aren't careful, it's easy to say something that sounds like it is blaming teammates. "This [Enemy player] keeps roaming top to dive me, so tilting" could be interpreted as blaming the ally for not preventing the roaming.

Some complaining is fine, but after a while it is annoying and unhelpful.

It's extremely asinine to hear someone complain about the enemy team over and over during chat, and I'm willing to bet you got quite vocal about it.
