I feel like there is no reason to reconnect to a match if you afk for more then 5 minutes.

So my computer started acting up when I was loading into game and I had to restart it then I ended up reconnecting at the 9 minute mark (game ended up being 31 minutes) and I ended up 7/1/5 and you can see from the scoreboard that my farm and gold was pretty average-high compared to everyone else.

Yet I get 0 XP from the match, get a D-, and a warning for being afk? I hope Riot takes another look at the leaver buster system where kids can afk Heimer at gromp yet someone who genuinely does not want to be afk gets punished.

This certainly does seem to be a flaw of the leaverbuster system.

I get why they do it, and I'm sure there's some logic in not letting people "work off" their AFK penalty simply by being good at the game once they finally join it, but the alternative is examples like yours where you were clearly a major contributor to your team, despite technical difficulties.

A lot of the reasoning behind how the Leaverbuster system currently runs is that it's impossible to differentiate between a rage-quit and, say, a power outage... but in a case like this, where you got into the game and hit the ground running, exceptions should at least be explored.

If not for yourself, then do it for your team. Those other 4 teammates still want to win, and can still earn LP.

same lol i reconnected after 7 minutes once and was left lv1 to get back into the game. luckily, i was ww so i could clear without leash and eventually ended with more farm then mid (somehow), 6/1/12 (lol their olaf went from 1/0/2 into 1/5/2), a double kill, and winning the game.
