Why is queue dodging penalized??????

I don't get it, Is waiting for a new lobby that big of a deal that I need to wait 5 or even 30 MINUTES because I dodged? I do it because people in chat pick troll picks and say they are going to troll. You think I'm going to waste 40 mins of my time playing with someone like that? Of course not so I leave for a new lobby then end up being punished for it and it makes absolutely no sense. There are plenty of habitual afkers that remain unbanned but dodge twice in a row because you're unlucky enough to get trolls arguing over champs or whatever and you are the one who suffers even if you are doing it for the benefit of the other players as well sparring them from playing with the troll. Can anyone explain the thought process behind this??

Cause you have 9 people that waste time. If it wasnt penalized what would stop people from doing it every game? Also people would abuse it not to play with comps/ champs/ players they dont like.

I agree it should be punished, but I think one dodge a day (similar to win of the day) should be allowed (in ranked for sure). Because in the situation where you do get a massive troll on your team, or worse, you get a player that just cost you a game on your team again (it happens a decent amount of time) it would be nice to be able to preserve your lp and not waste time on what is so obviously going to be a bad game.

There are few things more frustrating than being in the last game of a promo and getting a bard jungle on your team. Sure, you can report him after the game (though really, how effective would that be?) but that doesn't help with the fact that you just lost your promos. There is a difference between this situation and someone dodging because Fiora isn't picked top, or the jungler doesn't pick malphite to combo with yasuo.

Of course extended dodging should be punished, because you're right; people would abuse it to not play with things they don't like. That's why I would say one dodge a day should be acceptable.

Ye but there are milions of players playing daily. It wouldnt be 1 dodge per day, it would be 10+ milions dodges per day. What if i want to play teemo, but teammates dont want me to play it? There will always be 1/9 people who could dodge for free, making it impossible for me to play him. Or similar scenarios.

I get that but it takes like 5-6 lobbies before getting in game anyway because of queue dodging so do you really think it makes that big of a difference?

That's more then likely caused by people not reading that you have to lock in your picks

Or how about lessening it a bit. maybe after three times? First time is a warning, second time 5 minute wait then third hit them with the 30 min wait. I mean I can dc from 2 games in a row without consequence so it seems out of balance to me.

because we dont want the "old aram" back where it was a custom game mode and you could leave without penalty. i never got into a game faster than 30min seriously.
