To all the people being banned/chat restricted...

The new system is automated. It basically just checks chat logs for "bad words". If you don't type in chat, don't leave the match via esc key, don't stand still long enough for leaver buster to kick in, you will NOT receive a punishment.

This is what is wrong with the system and part of what has ruined this game. People know this. So they passively troll, ie they don't push lanes, they just roam and cs and buy items as they go, only defending towers to extend the time in game and refusing to /ff. Why? Because the system can't "detect" this, meaning Riot isn't going to put actual man hours (ie money) into the trolling problem in this game.

Some players are even taking lesson from pro trolls like Tyler1. Doing things like typing in chat to flamers, "why should i not push my lane?" when in reality it is 40 minutes in game and the enemy team is pushing another lane at the same time (they do this just in case Riot supp does look at the chat logs, giving the impression they aren't actually trolling).

As long as you buy items, cs and don't sit still long enough for leaver buster to kick in, you will never receive a punishment. From the automated system or Riot supp.

The rare case being that you intentionally feed/troll and someone records it and sends it directly to support via ticket.

This game has become 90+% troll because of this system.

Riot games does not like anyone talking smack about their game. It makes them look bad, they can't afford to lose more players, that would cost money and they paid $65 million for those last shares. They've got to get that money back.

Of course. Why else would everything in the behavior section be only downvoted? I almost never see anything upvoted even then it's few and far in between.

Most of the player base doesn't read the forums or Reddit, unfortunately. A lot of the players who do come here, think that verbally abusing someone who is trolling you is a greater offense than actually trolling people.

I don't take the time to refute every instance of them for multiple reasons: they don't listen, it's been said before, they can quite easily look it up themselves, and I quite frankly don't give a damn about correcting people because of how many times I've been trash talked for doing so (such as your oh so poignant comment)

May I ask you this question, for these people who passively troll, would you say that it's common that they keep their anger out of chat 100% of the time?

If they're angry enough to essentially have a loss on their own record just to have someone else on their team lose, do you really think all of these players have the dedication to only display their anger passively?

And for the players that are doing this for the pure sake of trolling, do you think they are frequent in number? A troll does it for the attention. Doing their best to make it look like their intentional feeding is not intentional would be counter intuitive in several occasions. The troll gets bored, and moves on.

I certainly do not run into 90% trolls. It's actually pretty damn rare for me to run into someone I believe is trolling and not just playing poorly.

It's not passive, its just not verbal.

Much like how a lot of people get their anger out by reporting or threatening reports.

So yes, particularly for players who may already have a banned account, or received many punishments, for the use of chat. I've had guys on my team who will try to ping you into engaging the enemy and stand there and wait you to die before going in (or simply walking off), and do it over and over - no real words spoken.

Riot should understand people are going to get mad, especially in a game with a lot of younger players, and they will find a way to express those feelings. If it's not going to be verbal, it will be something else.

The goal needs to be a healthy gaming environment, not necessarily a 'clean' or 'safe' one.

Your entire post is based on assumptions. The entire statement of your post is an assumption. What other way is there to refute that, other than by saying you are wrong? The burden of proof is on you, when you make wild claims like yours.

Edit: I suppose one better way to refute your "arguments" would be to point out all the specific things that are wrong. But I don't quite have the time, so instead I'll do the easier and faster thing and just point out the things that are right:

Again, more of an opinion, rather than a fact (even though you try to mix numbers into it), so can't really be considered objectively wrong.

Congratulations. 4 sentences that are... well, not necessarily correct (since opinions can't be "correct" either), but at least not wrong.

He is banned for toxic, not his passive trolling. Always because of his chat logs, not because of his passive trolling.

you dont know that. we had threads here of ppl who got banned for feeding/trolling AND THEY STILL GOT CHATLOGS! some barely said anything, others cursed a little. if it wasnt for a riot employee to announce that they trolled/feed we wouldnt know whats going on. so you cant tell what tyler got banned for.

A few times when my team flamed too much I just farm jungle and dont help team, that way it doesnt count as afk but you make your team play 4v5.

I just got a chat restriction for one bad game where I said one word in response to someone asking why I was reporting them. I could give two shits anymore about the system because it allows intentional feeders to roam free and wreck games.

I could care less.. I'll work off the chat restriction in the next 7 games, and in a week I'll have full access to the failure of the hextec system, which I already have my keys for this month anyway..

I'm more ashamed at riots response towards intentional feeders than anything

Best bet is to never use the chat, ever. Mute anyone who starts talking shit. Never respond.

Your restrict can be worked off in bot matches, which will go a lot faster, just use someone like donger or azir or ap xin to push towers ASAP. The hextech however will require a reform card which could take sometime to get, depending on how often you play.

Riot is now 100% under ownership of Tencant (as of 2014), who were already majority share holders to begin with. In either case, to simply make the excuses "we had other priorities", "it isn't an issue", "there is nothing we can do", is very much shameful.This game has made a massive amount of money over the years it has continued to be active. These problems could have at least had an attempt at being resolved or bettered to some extent. It's all about profits. Nothing more.

I feel the title doesn't match what you're saying but that aside... what would your solution to the problem be? It's not like you can hire a referee for every match to look over what everyone is doing and even if you could, there are still players who have no clue what they're doing because they're new, inexperienced, bad, or just feel like farming. Even as a diamond, I'll easily admit I've completely neglected to watch the map while farming and ended up being the only one not showing up to a teamfight. There's really no fix for this. Only the player can truly know what their intentions were.
