People using scripts to level up accounts.

This is a major problem at the moment. People are even setting up their own simple scripts to run to a jungle camp, aa, die, repeat.

I've started sending in support tickets with the names of accounts who are using scripts to level accounts.

Am I wasting my time?

Edit - This is not a 'factory' made bot or similar. This is a very simple setup. Run to and AA Gromp, die, repeat. This is beyond obvious, has been reported via the in game reporting system as well has been reported via ticket (which has been closed for days). If you look at the match history the account has many bot matches with 15-40 deaths, level 3 at game end, 15-40 minute long games. The account is also being used in normals, by a person.

Update -

The account is still active. It was level 20 when I sent a ticket to Riot. It is now level 24 and currently in a bot match, running the script to AA Gromp, die, repeat.

{quoted}

Account presumed banned. No activity in two days. Level 24.

you are 100% definitely wasting your time. best case - the account you reported that no human ever played on will get banned. costing the botter about 0 seconds of his time. meanwhile his thousands of other accounts push on undetected to 30 where they will be sold.

there are millions of accounts that have been leveled up in this way.

I'm 99% sure I ran into a scripter in a Normals. This guy picked Alistar ADC and then proceeded to run straight into the bushes and farm minions the entire game, never leaving bot lane, never responding to anyone talking to him, and being an all you can eat beef buffet for the enemy team. He "responded" After the match, saying he wasn't a bot and that he played for fun. Even new players playing to learn will speak up in game and at least listen when people ask them to help.

Check out my topic, just made one about them updating their scripts so they don't get reported and continue to sell accounts:

I wouldn't call it a problem, more of a nuisance. Games are still complete-able vs bots in 4v5 situations. I haven't personally even fully leveled a smurf account because I get too bored leveling a new account.

It's an issue when you're a new player I'm sure though. Riot needs to come up with a solution that makes leveling accounts for pre existing players easier. I understand why the leveling system is in place, it shows newer players the ropes.

On one hand I guess it kinda keeps a surge of smurfs from flooding lower tiers.

Pros and cons to everything.

It would take absurdly little effort to write a script with sufficient randomization built in to simulate human clicks.

My understanding is that this was one of the driving factors behind adding a player threshold to earn IP in custom games, which is probably around the time this stuff really started to crop up in bot games. I'd guess its used to farm wotd as well
