How is afking viewed towards perma banning

I never see players perma-banned for "just" afking. Yet this seems to be one of the biggest problems I see. To be honest, words don't hurt me. I'm thick skinned and from a family huge family. My game honestly isn't ruined until someone up and quits, and I'd like to know why players aren't perma-banned unless they seem to do, for lack of a better word, "everything."

I'm pretty sure if you afk frequently enough, you can be banned. There's a lot of leniency there because of the myriad of things that can affect your connection, and because you could have real life emergencies.

Riot does not really care about afk ppl. You get low priority queue the worst, and that's it. This topic annoys me for months, so I observed people I reported for afk more closely, and never was anyone punished effectively, though they were repeatedly afk. I play ~3 games everyday, and at least in one game there is an AFK on one of the sides. Also I agree with the OP; toxicity can be muted, but you can't protect yourself from AFK anti-mates.

It's driving me mad, but well, you can't force Riot to act. If you have any idea on this, I'm glad to support it.
