I will admit I've hit 'yes' to surrenders before, but most of the time it's because of the players, not the state of the game.

That's currently because games are so snowbally right now. When a team gets ahead, it is very hard for them to fall back behind the other team; unless they're not pushing objectives or getting caught out. Many games are decided by the end of laning phase at games that are in medium-high elo at the current.
The Space Cowboy1 votesI have seen this back to season 4, surrender at 20 is even a URL. Now it's just exaggerated. Even if a game is 'unwinnable' people should try a few more minutes. I feel 15 just isn't enough. Your enemy snowballs, ff. You snowball, they ff. Over and over until that one sportsman like game OP had. How ofter do NFL teams forfeit? Chess masters? Politicians? Every other type of competition out there whether for fun or otherwise people at least have the decency to see it through. Meanwhile Riot coddles the quitters so they don't give up on League all together. Quitters are quitters and if they cant finish a whole game let them get a leaver buster, lol.
In all sincerity I acknowledge some games are so slanted FF even tempts me. But those games end fast anyway so I'd rather take my lumps and learn from playing at a disadvantage through the stomp. That way I am used to playing from behind, which in turn makes me less likely to ff, which makes me better at playing from behind, which makes me less likely to ff, and so on.
Totally Not Jinx1 votesHonestly, I am not inclined to ff because the game LOOKS unwinnable. I've never hit Yes to a surrender vote because I thought a loss was a guarantee.
It's the players on my team, and if they're tired or super tilted at each other or even the enemy team, it's not fair to them to let them suffer more. Granted that happens a whole lot more frequently than I can remember, but I do not blame other players for getting overwhelmed or feeling defeated. If I can turn them around, I absolutely try, and sometimes I succeed, and it's beautiful.
But I'll never begrudge a tired team wanting to surrender if they're just not in it anymore.

Most times in huge teamfights I'll actually focus protecting the tank, unless I see people navigate to the damage dealers. At least if I sustain the tank he can soak all that damage while my other damage babies MUUUURRRRDERRRRR
