Naming and Shaming

Why is this a thing?

Personally, I think accountability on a personal level is acceptable. There's a difference between trolling and flaming someone and specifically calling them out and letting others know about their poor behavior.

There's a reason court records are public (even if we don't look at them much) and it's important to know that your neighbors a child molester or a murderer or that you just got matched with a guy who uses the N word 30 times a game while running into their base yelling the f-gg-t and other absurdly un fun things.

Any thoughts?

What exactly would Name and Shame accomplish on the forums? Its not going to give anyone the ability to block a person from matchmaking. At best you can dodge if you happen to remember one of the thousands of names that would end up flooding the boards.

Woo.

Then? You will get trolls that will use photoshop to blame innocents and start witch-hunts. Could Riot set the matter straight if that happens? Sure. But not till after the troll has successfully drug the innocents name through the mud. Not to mention the countless players that just flat out don't believe a word Riot says.

The trade off is not worth it.

Just put in a support ticket. It is way more effective, with less cost.

Yeah, and then we get a witch hunt. What's the point?

NO!!!!!!!

YOU CANT HOLD PEOPLE ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR ACTIONS!!!!!

ONLY THEIR WORDS!!!!!!

DONT SPEAK! DONT TRY TO IMPROVE THEM! TELL THEM HOW GOOD THEY ARE DOING AND HELP THEM FEED AND TROLL! you will then get a ribbon and get to keep your account and earn hex items.

yeah, except they're public for people to look at, it's not publicly announcing or targeting someone and spreading the information out which can lead to things like hazing.

If you have a problem with someone's behavior in the game report them. If you were unable to report them for whatever reason like post-game lobby not loading, or simply forgot to, or someone pm'd you something that was offensive since PMs don't have a report feature, submit a ticket about it. Why spread stuff about someone around when you can go take it to the actual authorities of the game environment to do something about it.
