To those who use CurseVoice and Overwolf...

Hey guys, I and many others have received permanent suspensions for use of 3rd party programs. As I have gone through the majority of board posts about those who have been banned, **many of those who have been banned are using CurseVoice, Overwolf (which I have never heard of and recently looked it up; seems kind of fishy to me), and often recording programs. **

Just making it known that it seems entirely possible for those who use these programs to be banned as well. **Although it is unclear whether these programs are being picked up as malicious 3rd party programs, if you use anything like these, do not be entirely surprised if you are banned for 3rd party programs. **

Just be careful if you're using any of these, no matter how much you try to prove your innocence, support currently seems to be certain that these programs are performance enhancing, even if they are not.

I am just making this post as a sort of PSA for those who use these programs, I don't want them to feel like they are alone if they are banned for these reasons.

Riot has actively endorsed Curse for their broadcasting. They don't ban people for using products they partner with. Something else is going on that people aren't divulging.

Curse voice is unofficially endorsed by Riot. Never heard of overwolf. Recording programs in a vacuum are also allowed - as long as they only record. Though there have been a few in the past that played with the code and triggered some flags.

Same thing. Can confirm I use Curse. Was in call and playing with someone when it occured. They didn't get a ban, at least not yet.

I would guess that either the previous mentioned comments regarding small modifications being behind it or people just outright BSing. However when I read this what came to mind for me was the possibility of people downloading these programs, curse ect, from websites other than say the offical curse website. In this case, they could unknowingly be downloading an APK with malware that triggered riots system, or mods built in that they truley werent even aware of.

Pretty sure a good friend of mine got banned for using a skype extension that changed the way its overlay looked. It's a real shame that Riot doesn't know the difference between chat programs, scripts, and misc game changing things like skins. A lot of other games do.
