A Month Away From Toxic Gamers

~I've stopped playing about a week prior to the Pax event. I stopped mostly because of toxicity, and a little bit of balancing issues, but mostly toxicity. I gotta say guys,** things have been so much better for me.**

~Up until the time of my hiatus, I was muting someone virtually every game. So much whining and pessimism. So many AFKs. It's not even towards me half the time, but it's almost as annoying. It's so lame when your team is behind, and the chat has "we can win this guys" followed by a "GG, this team is so useless". I've been playing from season 4. at one point i was literally bronze 5, and people weren't being as toxic as they are now. I finally made it to Gold last year, still no where near as toxic as it was this year.

~It's not even AVGN anger, it's soy filled buzzkills that ruined the game for me. It's the worse kind of toxicity where no one tries, and no one uses pings other than "enemy missing" over teammates, no one says GJ anymore. Do kids even know what "GJ" means? maybe i'm getting old.

Teammates will scold you the whole game for picking into a counter champion, despite you being first pick. What do you do then? -Well, you uninstall and do literally anything else.

~League was a small thorn in my side, and I didn't know it until i plucked it out. MAYBE IT'S JUST ME THOUGH. I do not advocate anyone to stop playing a game they love. But if bustin' doesn't make you feel good, If you think League has gotten worse, then please walk away, the grass IS greener on the other side.

Glad you found something else better to do. League is not the only thing out there, and there's nothing wrong with leaving this cesspool behind. Hell, I got to D4 again and I only play this game to waste time now, basically.

This game is only alive because of the NBA teams and all the money being funneled in into esports and Tencent. And because some people already invested so much time and energy, they don't want to feel like they wasted years of their life for nothing.

But there's a whole world out there, of things infinitely better than League and Riot Games.

Only reason to really play this now is with true friends and if you're making money streaming. Otherwise what's the point? Unless you just happen to enjoy a champion or certain skillsets or something...

When you no longer enjoy a hobby and you sit back and re-evaluate it and find that you truly no longer enjoy it, it's time to move on.

A lot of it is thanks to the censorship culture and ban-happy attitude of riot which doesn't deal with the flamers in-game - the only place it matters. A polite society is an armed society and riot has nurtured an utterly disarmed community where those that flame without using any nono words or attempt to mask their venom as legitimate criticism rule unchecked and unpunished.
