Riot is overly strict.

I usually have good behavior. Maybe 90% of my games are superb behavior. Then I run into people who start talking a lot of shit. If I retaliate to them you restrict me and take away my right to earn loot. This is ridiculous. I don't like the feeling of walking around on egg shells. It's still our right to defend ourselves verbally. It's ridiculously oversensitive to chat ban someone who talks back to the original flamer.

Seriously? I put money into this game and have been extremely positive. If someone calls us %%%gots and I say that they are acting retarded that is not ban worthy. You guys are empowering them by sucking us all in and then getting us all in trouble. What is your problem. The annoying part is you guys act like your above it all and start banning people for something that you guys probably do yourselves. You guys aren't perfect either. It feels very hypocritical. All of your characters are toxic. Mordekaiser calls me a FOOL. Akali calls us NOOBS. You guys are hypocritical.

THAT'S exactly what happens. You even remotely tell a raging, flaming troll to "shut the fuck up" and you're deemed toxic and given a reform card that has literally no context and they don't even care. You tell someone who is shit talking that they're muted? You're now deemed toxic because you're avoiding communication. These are actual triggers for the automated system and it makes literally no sense. All Riot encourages with this system is passive aggression or complete non-communication, which is WAY worse than using the mute button to just shush someone up. Even the mute button doesn't stop someone from ping spamming or intentional feeding, which people still wrongly deny as a problem.

There's one glaring flaw with your analogy. If you are beating the guy down, all you are doing is letting the flame spread more and more, because the guy most likely won't go down with a single hit. While you two are fighting, the flame spreads and eventually catches everything on fire. And because you were too busy beating him up instead of getting some water and calling for help, you get in trouble.

There's really no point in arguing with you because you're ignoring all sensible logic in a futile attempt to feel like you have a superior analogy.

Analogies are not meant to be given random on-the-fly circumstantial stories like you just gave. They're meant to provide a comparative element to an argument or debate. The argument here is that Riot punishing people on the defensive is just as wrong. The only time someone defending themselves should be punished is if they excessively curse or exhibit extreme behavior. Most of the times, this isn't the case, and it's immoral and lazy on Riot's part. There's a mute button, but telling someone that they're muted is actually punished by Riot, even if it's to serve the purpose of telling someone that they need to just stop typing and play. How is that even remotely reasonable? It's absolutely absurd and immoral to think that someone who's simply defending themselves should be punished against aggression. You would quickly change your tune if someone were to attack you with a knife, and because you shot him in self defense you were to go to Prison. Don't be such a blatant hypocrite.

I'm sorry that you're offended, and I truly hope one day your skin thickens and you actually learn to read and understand and have comprehension skills for social interactions such as this, but you throwing around baseless insults and refusing to even try to support your logic is not going to get you anywhere in a debate.

No, no, that is not a good anology zomee guy. When you are beating that guy up in the anology, you are stopping him from doing further harm. In league, raging back will just make the other guy rage more. So basically he light's your house on fire, then you light his house on fire. You guys are both charged, end of story.

BTW talking about self defense in a fight doesn't work because when you are defending yourself, you are being physically harmed and will probably have to go to the hospital if you don't self defend yourself. In league, you don't have to rage back as you won't be harmed for saying nothing. All you need to do is mute them. Think of muting as a way to make the person trying to beat you up suddenly disappear, and when is still raging he is punching the air.

There have been several games I've played through where I've immediately muted a player, and they will CONTINUE raging/flaming/typing in chat instead of playing. Muting someone does not stop anything except the annoyance of reading the crap they spew.

If I tell someone "stfu" because they keep raging, it's with the intention that they will do exactly that - STOP typing and focus on the fucking game. It's not your "right" to defend yourself. It is your privilege to play the game and use the chat, and Riot reserves the right to take those away from you if you do not follow the rules.

It depends whether the restriction from earning hextech crafting components is temporary or permanent.

If it's temporary, deal with it.

If it's permanent, fuck that shit. That's permanently disabling a significant function of the game, on the first offence. That's the most severe punishment Riot can issue to an account short of a permaban! That's INSANELY disproportionate for an offence that is otherwise only worth a 10-game chat restriction!

You could have made this point without being so rude. I imagine if he reads this comment he will mostly likely ignore the good that you said and immediately justify his bad behavior by your own.

It's difficult not to lose patience though on these boards, I get it. It happens to me sometimes too. Still, we should strive to be better, right?

Riot IS overly strict.

But you realize there is a very very vocal minority that wants Riot to be even more strict .... and because Riot heavily leans leftist/feminist, they will capitulate to the people that want even harsher penalties for small infractions. That's too bad, I hope Riot will eventually ease up and let the community be the community.

The only problem I see is that the OP used the word "retarded" which heavily triggers Riot. You have to remember that a majority of this playerbase is under the age of 18 either physically or mentally (you can be over 18 and still exhibit childish behaviors), and are both impressionable and sensitive.

And really, just to play the game, that's all you need.

Ironically, all this crap supposedly in place to promote safe/social aspects of League are just squashing it.
