Riot is overly strict.

I usually have good behavior. Maybe 90% of my games are superb behavior. Then I run into people who start talking a lot of shit. If I retaliate to them you restrict me and take away my right to earn loot. This is ridiculous. I don't like the feeling of walking around on egg shells. It's still our right to defend ourselves verbally. It's ridiculously oversensitive to chat ban someone who talks back to the original flamer.

Seriously? I put money into this game and have been extremely positive. If someone calls us %%%gots and I say that they are acting retarded that is not ban worthy. You guys are empowering them by sucking us all in and then getting us all in trouble. What is your problem. The annoying part is you guys act like your above it all and start banning people for something that you guys probably do yourselves. You guys aren't perfect either. It feels very hypocritical. All of your characters are toxic. Mordekaiser calls me a FOOL. Akali calls us NOOBS. You guys are hypocritical.

It's not your "right" to defend yourself. It is your privilege to play the game and use the chat, and Riot reserves the right to take those away from you if you do not follow the rules.

Riot IS overly strict.

But you realize there is a very very vocal minority that wants Riot to be even more strict .... and because Riot heavily leans leftist/feminist, they will capitulate to the people that want even harsher penalties for small infractions. That's too bad, I hope Riot will eventually ease up and let the community be the community.

It depends whether the restriction from earning hextech crafting components is temporary or permanent.

If it's temporary, deal with it.

If it's permanent, fuck that shit. That's permanently disabling a significant function of the game, on the first offence. That's the most severe punishment Riot can issue to an account short of a permaban! That's INSANELY disproportionate for an offence that is otherwise only worth a 10-game chat restriction!

You basically cannot be safe using chat for anything aside from "irelia f" and "draven h".

And really, just to play the game, that's all you need.

Ironically, all this crap supposedly in place to promote safe/social aspects of League are just squashing it.

The only problem I see is that the OP used the word "retarded" which heavily triggers Riot. You have to remember that a majority of this playerbase is under the age of 18 either physically or mentally (you can be over 18 and still exhibit childish behaviors), and are both impressionable and sensitive.
