Wow a new low for players
Wow, I mean I already have a pretty well justified low opinion of the overall League community given the frequency and severity of trolls and terrible people (about 20-40% based on available in-game data), but I just got out of a game with two people that hit such a new low that I feel like it should be shared. Keep in mind that this is a new low over the usual griefing, racism, homophobia, wishes for suicide, etc. that I'm sure you've all seen on a daily basis in League. I actually ran out of room in the report tab just trying to list it all in the description and had a hard time picking only 3 checkboxes for the reports.
There's the normal troll stuff, a trio in ranked flex, one starts by intentionally banning a teammate's champion (always a good start), the other tried to steal mid, and bragged about how this wasn't their main account so they could troll and do whatever they wanted and it wouldn't really matter. Of course they proceed to call for reports in all chat once the game started and pretended that the actual mid laner (me) was stealing the lane, then tried to lend credence for false reports by both of them saying it. Eventually that fails too, so they afk and disconnect after feeding a few times (yes both of them ragequit, first one for a period of time, then both). At this point the adc who was grouped with them (but not trolling, pretty quiet most of the game) and was apparently in a third party chat with them and claims that they weren't intentionally disconnecting but that their computers disconnected them (remember that part, it will be important later). Seemed pretty doubtful but meh.
Nothing unusual for League yet I know, most of you have probably had a game or two today that went exactly like this, don't worry it gets worse. At this point we're still managing to actually hold our own in a 3v5 (I was playing wukong and actually having a good game otherwise, and the botlane was doing alright as well). They come back eventually (one about 5-10 minutes later, the other 15+ minutes later) and realize we haven't lost yet, so, not realizing that their trio partner tried to cover for them in chat by saying that their computers disconnected them, make up a story about how they have a sick mother in the hospital with a brain tumor that for some reason they can only speak to for 15 minutes at exactly 1:30am, then start trying to attack everyone else for calling them out on their toxic behavior by using their made up story as a shield, then spent the rest of the game feeding and being toxic.
Aside from the fact that the adc had already told a different story, and the idea making zero sense anyway (lots of inconsistencies with the way hospitals work, particularly with something like that), just made it one of the most disgusting lies I've ever heard in League. Who makes up a story about their mother having a brain tumor just to get away with being terrible people in an online game?? Everyone who's played League for more than a month has gotten used to shrugging off people spamming profanity/racism/etc. and trying to troll others to take advantage of Riot's poor penalty system, but this was just a new low. Just completely devoid of morals to the point where I question if they're a threat to themselves and those around them physically.
Honestly I hope Riot reviews the chat log and ID bans them both, but I suspect if previous experience is any indication absolutely nothing will be done about it.
