Recently, I had a bad panth game. One of my teamates adds me after the match and i accepted it. After I accept, he sends me a barrage of threats and racism that no human should have to hear. Yes, I shouldnt have added him in the first place. But I did not expect to be harassed for having one poor game in a video game. This toxicity is what makes people want to quit league, and is what scares away new players. This is not acceptable> Here are screenshots of the chat

You accepted the use of private communications with this player.

It is similar to you giving your phone number to someone, then getting unhappy when they text/call you.

Name & Shame is not allowed on the Boards, please remove the photos from your post or crop out the names.

This toxicity is what makes people want to quit league, and is what scares away new players.

That's why it's punishable, file a support ticket.

Unfortunately this sucks and happens sometimes. You already identified a way to prevent this (not adding people), but what are any suggestions you have for how Riot can continue to lower the toxicity in the community and retain new players? While complaining just to vent cathartic, constructive suggestions based off of your experience can also help the entire community or at least put ideas out there for construction.

Sorry this happened to you though. Just submit a ticket, keep your head up, and move on. Bad games happen, don't let them get to you!

Even if he didn't explicitly justify any of the insults, he is justifying receiving such insults due to acceptance of a friend request which still is wrong.

No, he is not.

Saying you should expect a negative outcome is not the same as him excusing racial slurs or death threats. Sorry if you perceive it differently, but the lack of input in a discussion is not the same as justification or acceptance for misdeeds.

He compared these insults as getting unhappy when you receive a call/text. If I received a call/text with these insults I would be more then just "unhappy" and I think you would too.

He did not once say that these insults were equal to receiving an unhappy text.

He said that the action, the outcome itself should have been expected when both situations involved openly accepting messages from people who you knew were going to insult you.

Waaait, so your friend made a dark joke with you and you complain about it on Boards? Why? O.o
