The game will eventually die out from permabans and no new players due to a flawed system.

The system Riot has in place is to permanently ban so-called "toxic" individuals, and then sticking them with new players as they level up their new account. Of course some of those new players are going to feed extremely hard, and when they are stuck with Yolo McSwaggins the permabanned Diamond 3 smurf, he is going to absolutely let them have it.

Permanently banning someone for saying the words "poopoo-head" or "report" has never been a viable option in ANY game, except for League of Legends apparently. What needs to change is these people need to be stuck with a permanent chat ban instead, and in special cases such as intentional trolling and feeding there needs to be denials from playing the game for a set period of days (not lifetime).

Both of these cases will force a "cooler heads prevail" scenario as the chat banned person can't flame their team verbally, and the intentional feeder will have more time denied than he spends playing the game. I'm not sure why Riot and the people who play this game fail to realize how bad the new player experience is. Maybe they haven't experienced it in a while, but as a new player it was extremely rough. I am actually decent at the game because I had a good friend who taught me a lot before I started, but I have seen people who are bad absolutely get drilled with insults.

1.) REMOVE THE PERMANENT BAN SYSTEM. 2.) INSTITUTE A PERMANENT CHAT BAN SYSTEM. 3.) GET HUMAN REVIEW FOR INTENTIONAL FEED AND TROLL CASES. 4.) HAVE A TEAM DO 2-3 MINUTE IN GAME TUTORIALS ON EACH CHAMPION FOR BASIC KNOWLEDGE TO NEW PLAYERS. (Yes I realize there are champion spotlights, but many new players do not.)

Stop letting new players fall by the way side and be stuck with the majority of toxic offenders.

You do realize that you've described the old system, which changed nothing and was far worse, right?

There's never been a permanent chat ban system, people can still talk every 5 minutes no matter how many games they are chat muted for. The permanent bans were still issued by humans.

If you were on trial and it was the difference between life or death, would you rather humans decide your case or a computer?

Why should this be any different?

The system was effectively permanent chat restriction, as it stacked up to hundreds or thousands of games. People just kept abusing it, nothing changed.

If you were on trial and it was the difference between life or death, would you rather humans decide your case or a computer? Why should this be any different?

Because there's nothing similar?

Unless you've unraveled the mystery of being able to be reborn knowing everything you know now but not having access to anything you own, then they would be comparable.

lol you realize that, from the whole community, barely anyone gets permabanned right? i bet every day join more new players than ppl get permabanned in a whole week. also 9/10 ppl (on this board) say and i quote "fuck this game i wasted so much money and time fuck you all i uninstall and never play again" so if 90% of the permabanneds dont make a new account we already have more normal smurfs than "permabanned-smurfs"

if they want to just feed good luck. feedbuster will kick your ass man. i only played 2 mobas (and about 15 mmorpgs) and i can tell that the rules are all very very similar. especially between lol and dota. its almost a copy pasta of the rules.

also the new player experience was ALWAYS horrible i started at the beginning of season 2 and had smurfs on my team who flamed me! and permabanns didnt exist in season 2 so yea... it has NOTHING to do with permabanns.

Only 0.2% of the population gets a perma-ban. The system isn't hurting the game, it's just punishing the worst offenders of the rules. Permanent chat would only lead the toxic players to trolling: temporarily banning for trolling only delays the problem a few weeks, not attempt to fix it.

Really, new players should still be playing in bots until they're comfortable with playing the game as it is. Most of the time I see new players quit is because a veteran player told a level 7 player to play nothing but normals lol.

There is no banning for trolling whatsoever, hence there is no way that you can report it. Even if you did try the unsportsmanlike one.. it's automated. No one reads anything you report a troll for. So yes that is more than what is happening now.

If you believe that 0.2% then I've got a lake in Arizona I want to sell you. Some of the Riot employees throw statistics out that are just complete malarkey. Look at the guy who said that a solo que person only gets matched up with a premade 0.3% of the time. Get freaking real. Those of us who actually pay attention to the game KNOW that you get que'd against premades far more often than even 1/100 games. It's really like 20-30%. You can't always believe what someone tells you, you have to use your experience.

No, what they said is that you only get matched against full 5 man premades as a solo player that often.

Its classified as Unsportsmanlike conduct. Specifically speaking its the Griefing part of Unsportsmanlike conduct. And yes it DOES get checked. It has to be manually checked for something like that. Since what you call trolling might not actually BE trolling. Though certain acts are EASILY noticeable and very much easily counted as trolling among the community. They can check this stuff out.

They could check it out if they wanted to, but there are several threads where even Arbiters say it is automatically checked by a program, not human-interaction. There have been countless videos and streams of people intentionally trolling but they don't say anything negative in chat, and they are never banned or get any notification. You cannot be banned for trolling or intentional feeding if you dont say anything in chat and actually make it seem like you are trying.

The system requires people to report others to do its JOB. People have become lazy and have started thinking that the system "doesn't work" and don't report people when they should. In all actuality the automated system DOES work. It just requires input to even work.

I completely disagree that people have become lazy about reporting. People will report you for ANYTHING, you could go 1-2 in lane but because your team loses they blame you and say you hard feed and are toxic. You could say "can you please help us team fight?" and you get reported for negative attitude. "Is your TP up?" "No i just used it u freekin nub, reported" there is more reporting than ever and it's because they know the automated system makes mistakes and auto-doles out bans like ice cream from an ice cream truck.

It is WORSE than ever.

I've already been playing for a year now and I RARELY see toxic behavior in game. I've only seen it once or twice so far. And reporting for the example you made is just stupid shit won't do a thing anyways. Those are just salty players blaming someone else. Those players reporrts will become less valued since they just keep filing false reports.

Usually they just don't come to the boards to try and ask to get rid of the "Unjust ban" because they KNEW what they where doing.

Though I LOVE seeing the Rioter summoner 11 ! Never gets old.

Let's just be very clear: everything you said was wrong. I could pull out a bunch of Rioter quotes to support that, but obviously you wouldn't believe them.

I understand why you feel that what Riot says isn't representative of what's true. It's hard to believe that almost no one gets punished when YOU get punished. I understand, but: If you take a minute and look outside of your situation, at the grand 60 million player population, you getting punished doesn't say much. You getting matched against 5 pre-mades in a row doesn't say much. Your experience is just one out of 60 million, a data point.

Riot is only trying to tell us where we are right now and what their priorities moving forward are going, not placate us.

Let's be very clear, you assuming I have ever been reported or punished clearly shows how frustrated and angry you are that someone is actually spewing truth about what you blindly believe. I have never seen a report notification, ever had a ban, but I do know when something is broke and something is lied about. You can blindly follow falsehoods but I decide to be a man and lead.

It's just an example. I didn't assume anything, I just picked the more common problem on this board. Riot doesn't have any reason to lie about this: if they could say more people are getting punished for trolling, they probably would.

ive never heard of a perma banned diamond player, they don't tend to rage as hard or as much at there team as someone stuck in bronze.
