Been told my kill myself 3 times this week (across different accounts), no punishment for the players. There was no back and forth argument, just a mute + report that apparently did nothing. Meanwhile I play bots and a dude named "Raping Asians" gets to go on playing.
I'm not 100% positive on how long it takes for a reported name to be changed. I have a ticket report out on one at the moment myself, that I discovered in one of my accounts' ranked leagues. Obviously I can't post the entire name here for Name and Shame, but it was two racial slurs. I'm not certain on what the protocol is as far as whether they attempt to contact the player first and instruct them to change their name, or if they give them a certain time period before they will change the name to a placeholder. If anyone has had more experience with this, that would be great to know.

I was told to kill myself, im garbage, im "fucking trash", and me and my "mexican family" should go "burn to death in an oven" by a guy once, i reported him and recieved no message. It has been 1.5 months.
Meanwhile, i reported a wukong for saying i fed the enemy karthus and i immediately got the message that he was punished.
What the actual fuck?!
Yeah lots of verbal abuse and hate speech recently and I haven't gotten a popup for a punishment being dealt out from my reports.
You can always submit a support ticket, Riot will usually investigate the issue directly and then take whatever action they deem appropriate.
you can report the inappropriate name. i once submitted a ticket for a guy who had his club tag as "kill and burn the jews" or something like that
It was turned off because it was weaponized by trolls to trick people into saying things that would get them banned.
People will still be banned for such activities but it isn't going to be instantaneous like before.
For real past week ive seen so much hate speech and no ban popups
