If I get punished in game for this...

I legitimately just finished all my school work and wanted to squeeze one game in before i went to bed. Usually my internet and wifi is a moderate speed and i guess above average, but of course the one ranked game i go into (the only game of today) and immediate ping spikes, this isn't even me being a drama queen.. I had 3-6k ping it was literally unplayable, i explained to my team it was physically impossible for me to play and i said and i quote " I'll leave now so you guys can ff early" because it was smt like 5 mins in.. I joined league expecting to maybe hop in another game and my team is STILL in the ranked game. Now that it's passed 10 minutes they missed their chance to ff at 10 and lose no lp. And with a 4v5 they most likely will lose considering i'm in silver elo and they probably are too, and when they lose i'll get reported. Literally only thing some one said when i told them i had high ping was "reported"... If I get punished for my team not using the system SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED for this situation I'll be so mad. It's not my fault I had too much ping to play and it's not my fault they decided either to keep playing or that they just didn't know they could surrender, which is completely their fault. Do NOT punish me for this.

Even if your team had taken advantage of the /remake system (I'm fairly sure it has some limits that had already passed by the time you left, though), you would still earn a LeaverBuster mark for the game. /remake protects everyone except the player that left/disconnected.

The ping problems weren't your fault (at least not directly), but that still doesn't exempt you from the small low-priority queue you'll probably see tomorrow. The fact of the matter is that you were in a game, and then not in the game, and your teammates suffered a much less enjoyable experience because of it; the blame falls on you regardless of the root cause of the disconnect.

/remake ends at 3 minutes, so @ 5 mins, that option has already passed.

If it's just one game, you won't be punished for it.

I'm really sorry this happened to you. It sucks when unexpected problems occur. There are a few things you should know, though:

1.) The /remake system only allows you to "surrender" at 3 minutes if someone has been disconnected/AFK for 90 seconds. Once that time window has passed, you can no longer remake. So, unfortunately, your teammates did not have the option to remake the game at the time you had left, they had to wait for the 20 minute mark to come in order to surrender.

2.) As Gale said, /remake does not protect those who leave, disconnect, or are otherwise marked as AFK. So even if your team was able to remake the game, you still would be flagged as AFK and receive a leaver penalty. No matter what, this will still count towards a Low Priority Queue punishment.

Now, do you experience this sort of problem often? Depending on how frequently you leave/disconnect, you might not receive a punishment. Punishments are only given to players who show a habit of leaving/disconnecting multiple games, so if this doesn't happen very often then you probably won't receive a punishment. It will definitely help contribute to a future punishment, though.
