Honor reset

So, I was at checkpoint 3/3 at level 1 honor before the season started, which took FOREVER undoubtedly. Now, I know honor resets at the beginning at each season to make it a fair game for everyone. However, I didn't know that it reset as well if you were below level 2 before the season started. Why did Riot take away all my good progress towards a fresh start away from me? I am reset to checkpoint 0/3 at level 1 now.

Same thing happened to me. Are they going to fix it because I want my ranked rewards.
