Disconnection and punishment

Last night I was playing with my friends in URF, and around 2 in the morning or so my internet just randomly died. It stayed down for a few hours (assuming) since it was down all the way until I fell asleep. I haven't logged in since last night but I was curious if I could get an answer on this: If someone had reported me for leaving/afk when my internet died (out of my control), would Riot still punish me and strike my account?

Yes, the reason for a leave or disconnect is not considered. You are responsible for your connection/computer.

Riot's systems cannot tell the difference between intentional and accidental DCs. However, if it is only once/rarely, you will almost certainly not be punished, as Riot is aware that real life is a thing that happens.

Yes, but the report is not necessary since Leaver Buster is an automated system. AFK reports are likely to help catch people that are trying to trick the system by doing something that keeps them active but not actually participating in the match.

If you don't leave often then you won't get punished though. Playing matches without leaving will reduce your leaver status so that you don't get punished the next time, or the next punishment is reduced.
