Blocking Players

TheToadKing··1 votes·356 views

I wish we could "Block" players from the recently played list by right-clicking and then choosing "Block Player". Sometimes I forget to block someone who is a pain in the butt before I get out of the game. Many of the names are complex and hard to type with special characters. Being able to do this would make it simple.

I can't say much regarding memory, but I can help with the complex names problem. If you type the following:

/block @champname

you can block a player based on the champion they're playing, rather than their player name. Of course you'd need to replace the "champname" part with the champion's actual name.

So, for example, if your team's Riven is throwing a 20-minute fit about mid KSing her, "/block @Riven" will take care of it, regardless of how much of a pain typing her name would be.

What would the purpose of blocking a player after the game be? Blocking somebody doesn't mean you'll never get matched with them again.

Unlike the Mute feature, Block continues to prevent you from seeing their chat even in the post-game lobby. I believe it also prevents the client from popping up messages from them trying to add you as well.

Fair enough. But I mean... you can leave the post-game lobby and decline requests... I suppose if they started spamming you with requests every couple minutes I could see use for it. Just seems like a feature where the use cases would be so few and far between that it wouldn't be worth the effort to implement.

I can't argue with you there. It's definitely a very niche situation.
