If it works the same way as 'reforming' used to, you need to be actively positive rather than just not negative. Say nice things to people and be polite, etc.

It's rumored that getting honored by the honor system shortens this ban also, so try to throw in a lot of good plays! and great games! while you play so you get honored.
Time is not a factor at all, if you don't play games without getting reported you are making no progress.
