@Riot: The use of the "N" word.

Listen, I get that you wanna gloat or say "GGEZ" after game, even though it's pretty lame, but calling another player or using the "N" word is way out of line. Riot, I was wondering if I can get some feedback on this, because to me, that should be instant perma-ban.

That derogatory statement does nothing to further goals to bridge the divide we currently see in this country, and only further inflames the tension. I am not African-American, but morally, it is wrong to be using that sort of language in any context and should, in my opinion, result in instant permanent bans. Gaming is a place where all races and backgrounds should be accepted and gaming diversity is a thing we should all strive for. Hopefully my fellow Summoner's can come together and say no to racist remarks in League.

Thank you,

Remnar

Generally, racist and homophobic slurs are not tolerated and are met with quick punishments. Riot has a zero tolerance policy when it comes to this. Just report them and they'll be punished.

honestly, depends on how they say it for me

if they are saying it in a derogatory way or in a way that is very clearly meant to offend/harrass others, then it's completely immature and wrong, in which case they should be punished.

if they say it like "n***a, please xD" or...well you know, just a playful or sassy way then I see no reason to be offended about it.

To me, a word can only truly be offensive if used in a negative setting/way. A word's history doesn't hold any relevance to me personally, meaning that just because the word used to be solely used as an offensive, degrading, abusive tool doesn't mean that it can only be used like that. We've all heard the "N" word in a way that can be replaced by "brother" before, right?

Personally, I don't use it simply because I understand that it could be offensive to players and I have no way to know their opinions on the subject, but if I'm an a jungler that pulls off a clutch play to save my adc and he goes "my n***a <3" I'm not exactly gonna blow my cap off or report the scrub, yaknow?

I believe that extreme negativity and hate speech can already result in skipping punishment tiers.

So i am curious to what the difference is between the N word with N ending with ER, and N ending with A like legitly as in I hear it used in Rap all the time on YouTube and such?

But other than that I know Riot does punish but there are like over 100 different racist slurs out there I honestly just don't let it bother me whatever people say?
