I seriously cannot get behind on how people just promote suicide like it's nothing.

How fucked up in the head are you people? Like, I just played a game where the guy had ">KYS" as his club tag and told me to jump off a bridge in game. Did I report him? Absolutely, and I'm hoping he gets permanently banned from the game.

Even though it's the internet and you are completely anonymous, this should never come out of your mouth. You are literally telling someone to give the greatest gift in existance and throw it away, all because you got upset or they didn't abide by your rules.

If I'm gonna be real with you, I hope in sometime in the future the government will implement a system on the internet where it detects the use of this term of any degree, and gets the person fined or put in jail. There is absolutely no reason to promote the use of suicide on the internet, ever.

I was 100% with you until you suggested the government have any sort of restriction on the Internet, .. MUCH LESS FINANCIALLY BENEFIT FROM IT.

Lol no, THAT is not a good idea.

But, otherwise absolutely.

It's very sad that people are so casual with saying things like that. In a way it is a good thing to suspect that so many people have not learned what it is like for someone they know to have decided to take their own life. I suspect if they did, they wouldn't be so easy with those phrases.

Silly me just expects people to grow up, WITHOUT needing the government to enforce rules.

If words from an anonymous source that is possibly only 12 upsets you that much you have bigger problems.

Also that last paragraph is the scary kind of thinking that leads to Nazism and 1984/fascist states.

It is nothing. No one is going to kill themselves over a video game. If they are then they were probably going to do it anyway one way or another.

Bro, Riot paraded Tyler1 around an LCS stage after telling thousands of people to killthemselves. If you think that you are going to get any "justice" from a company with the sexist morals they exhibit, you are mistaken

I said it many times but I just get downvoted or punished by mods for admitting the truth. But I'll say it again. As someone who has been around a VERY Long time.

  1. most kids and college "students" have mental problems, are mentally ill or have anger management issues.
  2. most kids and young adults have very poor social skills.
  3. you can blame cell phones and brain drain from electronics overdose because of it (Even Bill Gates and Tim Cook admitted this).
  4. many parents don't monitor their kids or teach them basic manners or self control, simply fail to raise their kids properly, and when they finally get out in the world, they are only nice to people they are attracted to (e.g. cute asian girls), their bfs or gfs or people they need or require for some class or other social assignment or work. I ran into a large number of League players at the University who admit they are "toxic af" and troll and simply don't care about other people except their RL buddies. Some of them were diamond too. I already cut off contact with two of them because i don't like or tolerate jackasses. At the last bar club social on Friday I gave that one asian guy (the guy who admitted he was a toxic jerk and a troll) a very dirty hard stare and made it clear I don't like jerks who pretend to be nice in real life but who treat others like shit.

Mighty high of you to assume life is "the greatest gift in existence".

Aren't you the one pushing your ideals on others here?

Also, making the government responsible for everything said on the internet is way too big a task for anyone to handle.

The internet is enormous. You can't monitor everything.

It's for a good cause, I know, but you have to be realistic here.

Whatever, I hear way worse in game, and neither I nor my family died of any disease or suicide yet. Just mute and report him and walk on.

You are literally telling someone to give the greatest gift in existance and throw it away, all because you got upset or they didn't abide by your rules.

What they're actually telling you is just "fuck you", but extra rude. That's it. That's the entire intended message. You aren't supposed to take everything literally.

I hope in sometime in the future the government will implement a system on the internet where it detects the use of this term of any degree, and gets the person fined or put in jail.

That's a terribly slippery slope. You absolutely do not want to give a government that kind of power.

Its not something I've ever said, but it doesn't bother me whatsoever. I guess its just because I started playing online games during a different time, where things like that were commonly said and never taken seriously.

You gotta be able to pull out your belief systems to test their value and accuracy. All i see in what you wrote is I BELIEVE THAT SAYING KYS TO SOMEONE IS WRONG AND IF ANYONE DOES IT THEY BELONG BANNED, IN JAIL OR FINED!. If you have a high iq, what I just said should hit you like a ton of bricks and you should be thinking. "Omg what if what i think is wrong, isn't actually wrong, and what if things are much more complex and deep than i think".

"How fucked up in the head are you people? Like, I just played a game where the guy had ">KYS" as his club tag and told me to jump off a bridge in game. Did I report him? Absolutely, and I'm hoping he gets permanently banned from the game."

  1. Are you just projecting? everyone does it, and a lot. No, really, a lot more than you could guess. People project almost nonstop, some personalities more than others, also depending on the sort of stress being placed on that personality. So, maybe it's you that's fucked up in the head. What evidence would support that? Then you get super honest with yourself and look at all the pathology in your own behavior and thoughts.

  2. A dude with kys as a tag, tells you to jump off a bridge, is he subconsciously entertaining the concept that dying may not be a bad thing? A lot of people play around with that idea in the back of their heads without even realizing it, then it comes out in jokes, art and expression almost blatantly sometimes, depending on the personality of the person expressing. All i'm doing here is assuming the person being judged, may know something I don't. After taking that position i come up with things like, maybe he's working out the concept in his subconscious, or maybe he has worked it out and doesn't think it's a big deal. To do this you have to have accepted the shadow in your own heart, or the potential for both good and evil in every human being. Once you've done that, someone acting in a way you don't like, doesn't effect you as much and you may actually come to appreciate different people and viewpoints.

  3. Hoping he gets perm banned from the game, what does this desire say about you? You're saying that because you think something is wrong, that the person should be excluded from participating. Again arrogantly assuming that your idea of right and wrong is absolute. At this point if I caught myself saying things like this, i'd be ashamed of myself, because i'd rather know better than to be so arrogant.

  1. Are you projecting? it's interesting how all because you don't like the personal philosophy of someone else they should be excluded not only from playing, but also their freedom should be taken away, and or their hard earned money. I would argue one of the greatest gifts in existence is freedom, freedom of thought, expression and ideas.

  2. You want the government to implement a system to observe the population online and dish out punishments to those who deviate from the demands of 1 person or group? uhhhhhhh.... Ever read 1984 by george orwell? It really is a bit nerving to see people like you express the deeply evil and destructive worldview of the tyrannical dictatorships and genocidal government systems, and at the same time as freely expressing that evil totalitarian mindset you wish to take away other people's freedoms. I don't wanna take away your rights or freedoms because of ideas you have, even if you're a totalitarian monster. I'll fight for your right to speak your truth. So long as you don't try to force others to adhere to those ideas.

Lastly i'll lay out really quick another way to look at the kys problem.

  1. Some people believe that dying isn't a bad thing.
  2. Some people believe that people of little value to them or their ideas should kill themselves. (this includes people one doesn't like)
  3. Some people believe that dying isnt a bad thing but are confused at their own fear of it and therefore toy with their fear using jokes, or insults and other ways of expression to help subconsciously work out the dissonance.

If we can all accept that the above people exist, then the question becomes. Is it right to threaten them with bans, jail time and fines in order to prevent them from expression their ideas or feelings?

I think not, if you don't want to hear or read certain things, ignore them, mute them and move on. This solution, is much less drastic than banning, jailing or fining the people who offend you. I think it takes a fucked up head, to think it's okay to jail, fine or even just ban someone for saying kys, or expressing their comfort with the concept. It's not up to any of us what can and can not be said, or thought.

The last paragraph would be dangerous, I believe the government should punish someone if they are harassing you, for example calling you and telling you to die, many governments already have this as a law, but it could potentially be improved, however penalizing every instance of people saying "kys" on the internet is dangerous.

Instead the companies that host online games and such should have better rules and action taken and we need to encourage this to happen.

But I agree with you about everything else

Gotta realize theyre just kids or they just dont take words seriously. When i was a teen i used the gay slur f word all the time, my friends and I would be on Halo calling people the black slur n word... i wasn't homophobic and i actually had a deep resentment towards my dad's racism, because racism is fucking dumb. Yet i used those words thinking theyre just words that i decide the meaning to. F@6 was just a fuck you disrespectful term that had nothing to do with gays. And n-word was just to offend people who take life too seriously in my eyes, and had nothing to do with me hating black people. Remember, i was a teenager lol.

Your condemnation of freedom of speech is absolutely abhorrent and terrifying though. Fuck you for saying you should be fined for speech. Seriously. Thats fucking dangerous. Dont ever say that.
