Q'ing with role call issues

So i've had this issue several times lately. Does 'Mi' pass as 'Mid'? Each scenario I had accidentally missed the D while typing fast to call the lane... So then they begin to say "you called mi, whats a mi"? They don't let up, clearly they understand what I mean by 'Mi', so who is wrong here?

Eh, it is just people being super picky if they want the role. If someone says tp, to, mi, md, or even the first letter; I use my brain to realize what they called and then ask to double check.

As long as the role is easily distinguishable from the others, you're fine (if you say mi, md, tp, to, AD, AC, sp, etc.). But it does have to be distinguishable. You can't just say "d" (or i, u, or any other letters that don't start a role's name) and have it be okay. If you say "bot", it's a safe assumption you mean "ADC", and there's no need to spell out "jungle". Anyone that says otherwise is most likely sarcastic, and little more than playful teasing. Anyone that acts otherwise (takes the role anyways) is an ass.
