How do you untilt teammates?

So I've had a lot of games in lower elo where players will tilt as soon as something doesn't go their way and start saying they will feed.

what I've been doing is talking them down to at least get them to stay passive in their lane instead of running into mid to feed. This doesn't always work though which is why I want to know what you do in situations where players threaten to feed?

To be quite frank with you, you cannot. People who go on tilt are highly unstable and if they stop being tilted it's from some sort of miracle. There's almost no consistent method I have used to "untilt" a player. Sadly that is the stupid truth.

You can't. Just don't aggravate the situation any further and mute them if necessary.

I just ignore it and continue what I'm doing, if it's bad enough I just mute em.

Yes, it can be rather difficult to get a team mate's mind back on track.

One of the best ways to calm somebody down would be for you to net them lots of kills and make them feel like they are carrying, but that can induce cockiness and an inflated ego.

''gg trash team no skill'' can turn into ''GG no skill trash team and I hv 2 carry''

Even congratulating a team mate for doing well can ease their stress. Saying something like ''Challenger Master Yi'' after he scores a double kill or something can fix their attitude.

Positive motivation can help along with having their back during the match. Especially if you help them out during a gank/teamfight, and give them the kill, tower gold, or monster buff. If you're working at cheering them on, it can be just the boost they need to get back into the saddle.
