Why bother ranking?

So I have been an avid leaguer for roughly two years now. I've played all game modes and have logged over 3 thousand hours. I understand ranking and not allowing duo partners with too high of a gap, but yet admist all of this we still haven't addressed afks or feeds in ranked. I've played literally 1k games of ranked in 2 years and can't advance past Bronze 1. Why? Well I adjusted my own gameplay, but at the lower levels it doesn't seem like it matters at all. What matters is literally luck. Luck that your enemy has an afk or rager or feeder, and prayers that you don't get one yourself. The worst part is bronze allows for those who do not care about ranked to be your teammates, putting people in an endless cycle of advancing only until they get 3 afks in a row or a 0/10 fiora who blames not banning a garen. These conditions for ranked are unfair, no one should lose points for an afk on their team. If this is a team game, then why even offer individual ranks unless you can make accommodations for when things aren't controlled by a player at all.

Furthermore, I'd really like to see some sort of reset of ranked, total reset. I hate the fact that because I mained support I can't climb from where I was two years ago. It may sound bogus but honestly, I don't like that players can be punished for the very roles they choose for years after. Which is only made worse by not being able to climb when you're kda is 6:1 but your teammate is 4/17.

EDIT: Surprise, since I first posted I've been losing with feeders. 0/10 fiora and a 0/13 jax. Love bronze.
