I GOT HONOR LEVEL 3 --- And I didn't do much.

It's been almost a week since players started getting honor level 3, and I know a lot of us were/are feeling left behind. I thought maybe I wasn't doing something right, maybe not enough of something; should I chat more? Should I play ranked? Should I do premades? But I stuck to my routine and got it! It didn't take much, but I was pretty consistent.

My routine (since the honor update):

  • I've played ARAM almost every day, generally until I get first win of the day; whether it takes one match, or more.
  • I've played 192 games since the honor update.
  • I'm unranked, I don't play ranked (haven't since s4), and I don't do premades. I always que alone (I'm a happy loner).
  • I always honor vote at the end of a match, win or lose.
  • I RARELY chat in-game and usually mute my whole team. I'll maybe type "gj", "wp" once or twice every other game.
  • I always have all-chat disabled (I get tilted too easily).
  • I get honored regularly (anywhere from no honors, to a ribbon). I try to play well and help my teammates, and I try hard **not ** to show it when I get tilted, like when I'm getting rekt or teammates seem to be trolling. I keep the tilt to myself.

I got the honor 3 notification while I was ready to que up a game. I had just badly lost a game of ARAM, was ready to que up again, and left to make some food. When I came back ~15 min later, the notification was waiting for me.

I hope this information helps someone while they wait for their own notification, and I hope everyone trying to get to honor level 3 gets there swiftly! I know the wait is awful.

I just got honor lol 3 on my secondary account which I have been playing for only two weeks and I hadn't played on it for months before that. It makes no sense

From what i have seen and heard.........increasing your honor level is basically......games played, time passed, how much you get honored, and how much you avoid getting reported. Sadly, if you play ranked you will prob get reported every other loss cause someone is always butt hurt over the loss.

I've played 164 games, gotten about one Honor per match though I haven't kept track of that, and I'm still level 2.

Yeah, neutral players such as yourself will get it slower than true positive players, but eventually both positive and neutral will get it.

Too bad it makes the honor level feels more like a participation trophy than an actually hard-earned trophy (you get it regardless of whether you are positive and encouraging and lead your team to victory or not).

I would love to know if someone has gotten the honor level 3 notification immediately after logging into the client.

So far, it seems you only get the notification if you stay logged in after finishing a match.
