I feel like in every game, somebody has to throw a fit about afkers. Yes I know every second is crucial to the team, but i see people saying, "Report (blank) AFK" in all chat if someone leaves for 30 seconds even after saying brb in chat or something. I'm just sayidown on the reports , the person will most likely come back!
Deep Terror Nami1 votesTbh reports for AFK are for tracking regular intentional AFK's; the Leaver Buster system punishes for AFK's with low priority queues (and match loss) automatically whether they are reported or not. Calling to report it might be annoying, but try to ignore those and just report how best you see fit; it's better to report them anyway so that if they do this frequently (which is very troublesome to the team) Riot will be able to see and do something about it.

Chermorg1 votesActually, reports do help LeaverBuster because while it is automatic for obvious cases (where someone actually left the game completely, or walked around in base), but for more borderline cases and/or those the system can't detect, reports flag the system to look at a game that otherwise may not have been caught. As DTN says, report them anyway so if it's too borderline or unusual for LeaverBuster to pick up, a Rioter will.

Thats why i dont play ranked, yet people still get butthurt caue i left for 30 sec. Like dang im sorry i have a mom, and a sister, and several pets. I still like the game, but im not gonna stop playing because i have to go for a bit every once in a while...
Around999People1 votesEh. Depends. If they're gone for a bit then no issue. But if their laner gets super fed because of the afk then it's an issue. But I tend to report only if they leave and don't come back.

All I know is that you aren't there to assist the team, your reasons are irrelevant and, to be honest, how am I to know that what you're telling me is true? "My internet cut out", maybe you're trolling. So, I report for AFK when this happens, if you consistently do it then you will get punished, if you do not then you won't.
I was in a game a few weeks ago in which I was support and my adc left for a couple of minutes at a time to "change my daughter's diaper". I reported them AFK (and negative attitude because they gave the team shit about it). They said "it's a game, I'm not going to let my kid wait just to play a video game guys, get a life". My response was, "then be a responsible parent and take care of your child, don't neglect them so you can play a game online". I felt pretty gratified when I received an instant feedback report a few minutes after the game ended.
Bottom line: If you AFK, regardless of the reason, I will report you.

after reading this i have lost all faith in humanity and find you to be a monster. im feel so sorry for you that a game is more important then anything to you.

If your life is so filled with distractions that you can't sit down for a half an hour and focus on a game without going AFK then perhaps this game isn't the one you should be playing... you clearly have more important things to focus on.
I don't trust what people say in game/on the internet, so if someone says to me "I had an emergancy so I had to leave for a bit", I don't have any way to verify that statement and therefore will report them.

i didn't mean it like that..but shit comes up. its like the old "you were just fine yesterday how can you be sick today" thing....shit happens. it cant be helped....just because something happens within 30 minutes it doesn't mean there life is full of distractions. it just means. something happened.
Warning Shot1 votesThe issue isnt with actual afkers, the issue is that if were losing by 30 kills and the enemy is in our base with 3 inhibs down and we have no nexus towers sitting in base while theye nd the game isnt afking.
