Okay so I'm not the one to break out and start flaming players for stupidity or ignorance out of nowhere. For me to break it usually takes many games of going through the same things or like if it happens 3 games in a row in ranked q or something. I kind of resorted to dealing with inters and trolls by just afking if I see that its going to be impossible to win a game because a person or two are literally throwing. The problem with that is, by afking I am at risk of getting reported as well and penalized. That's where I say that this game is a toxic trap and it forces you to take action whether than just pretending nothing is happening or just deciding to remove yourself from the situation at total. For example: (this is just a normal blind queue)

I called mid pre-game lobby. Of course there was an insta lock. Not sure if he insta locked top or mid because he ran teleport with a mid (viktor) champion. This happens often in blind queues so I didn't care. I chose my champion and locked and waited for the game to start. I wasn't going to dodge because that's a penalty right there as well. You see where I'm going? So we get into game and viktor just ends up going bottom because no one chose to dodge. I'm killing it mid and I'm 4/0 on lucian vs. talon. Of course bot lane is doing horrible. The support is 0/3 and he gets tilted to hell. He decides to troll. He comes and sit mid and screw with my cs. Not only is he doing that, he decided to feed 2 kills to my laner. So here I am boiled up pissed off because I didn't do anything to deserve this. I said in all caps, "DUDE YOU'RE MESSING UP MY LANING PHASE AND YOU'RE TROLLING. PLEASE STOP GIVING KILLS AND TAKING MY CS." Thresh then proceeds to tell me that he isn't trolling and that I have now been muted. So he continues to stay mid and ruin the game because talon has now caught up and is now able to kill me easily because I am lucian. I was fed up with the bull and decided to afk because thresh was now feeding kills to every laner. Anyone who called him out, he proceeded to act innocent and say that they were muted and reported. THIS is how a troll gets away scott clean. He knows how flawed the system is and how the chat has a big impact in reports on a player. He continued to try to bait anyone to flame him and then he goes into /ALL chat to complain about the team and urge the opponents to report. Of course because the League Community is so backwards and toxic, they agree just to tilt us even more for a win. Thresh then tells them to report me because I'm afk (At this point, I thought the game wasn't even worth losing mind over so I was in fountain). THEN i remembered that I'm BREAKING THE RULES by leaving the game, so I'm forced to play this horrible hopeless hell of a game until the enemy team destroys the nexus. OH and we couldn't surrender because the Viktor was trolling at this point so yeah, "Failed to surrender 3/2 votes". This game is a toxic trap and there needs to be a fix because it's being overrun by trolls and they are winning.

The system is very easy to get around and you can abuse players in so many ways that can go undetected

oh they don't go undetected. They just get punished later and you don't see it, as you'll only get a notification if your game that reported them got them punished.

The system is building its case against them and if they keep up the same behavior they will get punished.

Of course, you not being able to see it makes you (and alot of others) think that they system isn't doing anything. Riot calls this "low visibility on the behavioral system" and they are aware of how people perceive the system.

wrong. They do go undetected, what your saying is if they really are toxic then they will get banned, which is the case for many people but not for over half of the toxic community. The way riot actually deals with them is after a high influx of reports. so for instance if you get reported by 2 or 3 people 3 times in the gap of 10 games your perm banned. BUT if 3 people out of those 3 games just want to get the hell away from you and only 1 person reports you its a non issue for riot.

for the first example within those 10 games it would be 6-9 reports. averaging about 3/4 a report per game. where as the latter is 3 reports thats only 30% of the time. now IF they do it in 20, 30, 40, 50 increments of reports to games played then the number just gets smaller and smaller

Too bad you dont get punished based on how toxic you've been, but on how many times you've been reported. and the people you've left feeling like shit are just angry afterwards lol.

You're a bit off there.

  1. It only takes one report to flag the game for review, so any number of reports beyond that does nothing.
  2. Extreme toxicity results in skipping punishment tiers.

That's not actually how it works. Reports only flag your account for review.

That is correct. THe number of reports matter. That is why the "mute and go with it" is false way to go, as the toxic player and troll is not muted to everyone else, and he usually does all he can to get his bullying target reported. There is no human involvement in the system, and support cannot lift or change punishments from system. And Riot is not listening people understanding AI teaching, but going with their ignorant idiot stance giving the system only negative feed of reports and teaching it wrong. (The system should get also "this is not toxic", and even then the results should be checked by humans. There is one Finnish company making such AI filters for forums to help moderators... But hey, we understand nothing as we rudely use our better understanding in argument with Riot making Riot feel they are incompetent....)

pstt.. correction: its based on number of games validly reported. Not how many times you've been reported.
