Verbal harassment and hate speech should not be a reportable option and here is why

This is an online game, everyone is here to win and have fun. but lets be honest, nobody will be happy losing all the time right? shit talk is going to happen no matter how bad the punishments are. Now, why there shouldn't even be an option to report shit talking, because if you see someone talking shit, mute them, theres a reason for the mute button to be there.. if u can't hit the mute button or you simply dont wanna mute someone, then its your choice of seeing all those shit talking am i right? if the person has no positive speech to say, why not mute him?

So if Riot can see this post please give me and everyone an explanation why don't people just mute someone thats talking shit?

Are you aware that hate harassment and hate speech can land you heavy fines and even prison time in real live? If you think that's acceptable, be happy that such a report can only get you banned here.

I actually agree that shit talking is normal and expected, probably even acceptable, but this has absolutely nothing to do with shit talking

The mute button is not there so people can say whatever they please, It is there to minimize the problem. IMO this is a poor excuse to try to use to allow players to say anything they feel like.

Even if someone hits the mute button After hearing insults and hate speech as you suggest the damage may already be done. This is why you don't get to use the mute function as a "I can say anything rude' button. Nice Try though.

No, it's their choice for talking shit in the first place.

The problem with this logic is you're trying to place the responsibility on people to mute, rather than the responsibility to be decent players in the first place.

To really stretch the concept and put it in a metaphor, it would be like saying we shouldn't get arrested for robbery because it was the homeowner's choice by not locking their doors.

What right do you have to tell people to 'get the fuk out of life' ! To me that is pretty darn close to telling someone to kill themselves over a video game because you Felt you were inconvenience for a game or whatever. When a person takes this attitude and approach to the game and then wants players to agree with them this is a problem.

No One says you have to be a coach or a friend although that would be the stand-up thing to do, what I'm saying is by advocating hate speech in a game is just plain wrong. I know that you can have your own opinion and I can have mine and if you want to repeat all over this thread about how unjust this is then people will keep telling you that there are rules you have to follow and in the end we all agreed to the TOS and that is the simple answer to why Riot doesn't allow Hate speech. Like it of not, it's your choice, put you still have to adhere to the rules of the game.

Just because their is a mute button doesn't mean you get to be a jerk.

This game is based on communication so muting everyone at the start actually hinders your gameplay.

Mute doesn't prevent the initial harm only the continued harm.

Just because this is a game doesn't mean you can act however you want.

Being a jerk has consequences.

Here are a few reasons your wrong. This is My opinion and no one else's. If you want to be a jerk I hope you enjoy being banned in the future for that behavior.

the shit talking im talking about here is when someone did bad, you told them that they suck. it is entirely within this game, its not like saying how fat or unsuccessful they are in real life... but cmon guys, when you have a bad game, and people said that you suck, take it and improve... if you can't take a couple insult after you screwed up your team because you have a bad game, seriously dont play online games, go explore the real life...

Having a mute button does not mean the other has the rights to shit-talk as much as he wants. The toxic guy will still be punished for showing out a bad sportsmanship behavior at the end.
