WHY THE HELL DO WE STILL COUNT GAMES WHERE A PLAYER DOESN'T EVER CONNECT

I just had a game where our yi NEVER connected. Although we were still tied in kills early we lost due to never having our jungle. I understand not eliminating lp loss for games where someone dc's after playing a bit because that would encourage ppl to dc when they were losing to avoid lp loss. But if a person never ever connects then why does the loss still count? It wasn't even fun for the enemy team who felt that they didn't deserve to win. The enemy team win could still count I guess so the match doesn't feel entirely wasted but It is usually uncarryable even in high elo according to statistics.

That's just a guess :

Riot think it might encourage people to ALT-F4 post champion select. Their 2 "clients" doesn't seem to communicate very well. Maybe after their new launcher is out a functionality about this will be released.

Riot answer to technical problems they can't or are too lazy to fix:

"you have less chance of getting player who never connects than enemy team."

I definitely agree that all games that have someone who never connects should be thrown out. Maybe something like a short pause at the fountain to allow people another couple minutes first. Just throw it out, no win for the 5, no loss for the 4. Give the loss to the person who didn't connect. They would probably also have to apply the losses to everyone who queued with the person who didn't connect either. I do not agree at all that the winning team should keep their win because someone on the other team never connected.

I think the reason we don't get stuff like this is because AFKs aren't that common. So even if the experience of being in a game with an AFK is one of the worse, it's just much less common than other issues.

I think if they fail to connect the game should not start and should instead be disbanded even during the loading screen. As for them going afk during a game, it's tough to come up with a system for that. My best proposal is that if they are grouped with people have the group lose lp or something and the solo players remain stagnant, or lose reduced lp. It would also have to depend on the length of time that the person was afk. If the enemy team is at your nexus and they dc, there's a big difference than a 30 minute dc after 10 minutes of game time. I've heard, sorry i have to go to school, work, my parents want me to go find a job, and my internet was disconnected because I can't make the payments because I don't have a job. I think the frequency of afk and dc is a little too high considering I dc sometimes due to unexpected pc updates and whatnot, but I would be more than happy to lose the lp and have the other nonparty member lose a reduced amount or something. That being said as it stands riot does have a statistical point in that there is a high likelihood you've played against a team with a dc or afk and cakewalked through it, winning in under 20 minutes, but you're happy so you forget to report the enemy afk and just go to your next game, where the afk is on your team and you're just a hollerin' and wailin' about afks.
