Hey guys. I think Riot changed up their report / punishment system is Season 8, and I think they made it a lot less productive. I called their Ziggs bronze a couple of times, and then I also called him a dipshit. I didn't remove anything from the text. I don't think I should have been punished for this because he was flaming me much worse than I was to him. I only cussed two times, one was for my team not surrendering, which I admit was toxic because we won anyways, and the other I mentioned above. But one toxic thing? The other games I got punished for were a little worse than this one. In one, my team said I wasn't doing anything in fights, despite me having 12 kills and doing the most dmg on our team, so I went and split pushed top. I asked them if I could, and they told me to do something good for us, so I did that. And then they reported me. Except the part where I called them "fucking idiots". I did that because they would not listen to me, they were spam pinging me, yelling at me because I didn't ult when we were being dove. That was a little toxic, but I still don't think it warrants a chat restriction. The picture that I have linked to this post is what SHOULD be punished. I didn't cuss very much, I didn't use any racial slurs (or any, for that matter), I wasn't spamming in all caps, I wasn't flaming consistently throughout the game. I've seen much more toxic behavior than this, and I know they weren't punished because I reported and never got the message for it. If you see an error in my logic, please correct it. But I've been talking like this for almost 2 years and I'm just now being punished (these games were in the past 2 days). I didn't flame that hard. There was a third game, but I'm not putting that one on here because I admit it was pretty toxic. I was spamming chat with "Europian people spreed with christianity" which is kind of an inside joke. But I was doing that because their Riven wouldn't stop talking in all chat lol. I also called her an idiot a couple times, but it's whatever. Anyways, if you read through all of this, thanks. Feel free to downvote this post if you don't agree with me, but don't call me toxic or a dumbass. Because I don't really see where I went wrong.

Not much to say about this, but I think Riot's system got messed up during season 8. Please fix it Rito.

It's not messed up, the system just caught up with you proved that you were consistently toxic.

Think of all the games you played in the past with similar behavior, you didn't get away with it, the system just needed to accumulate a certain amount of toxic games within a certain period of time before it can punish you.

Yep, that's why you got chat restricted and not a 14days ban. So yeah you were toxic, it's not that big of a deal tho, a chat restriction is something to tell you "hey you ! don't be an asshole anymore !"

I think it's deserved nobody wants to play with someone talking like you did, i would have reported you ( yeah maybe i would have reported others too but punishment are based on your behavior, what others did or said doesn't matter at all ).

Excusing yourself by saying that you were toxic because someone else was doesn't matter. ( You get that otherwise people would always contest punishment by saying "he was feeding so i had to be toxic", it's kinda like kids "mom ! mom ! he started it first !!!!!" ).

If you end up in a game with a toxic asshole, don't lower yourself to their level, if you do then you deserve the same punishment.

So here you insult people, you say that they are bad because they are bronze ( dude you got matched with that dude that means that your MMR isn't that different from his ). Plus you want to give up.

Now you say that you're talking like this for years, but dude if you looked at the little image i showed you in my previous post, it says that as long as your account has not a sufficient history of toxicity, the system just save the report and it'll be taken into account next time you're reported.

So if you're talking like that for years what happened is that you're often being reported with similar chatlogs ( yeah i agree I've seen much worse ), it's not enough to directly punish you but over time it adds up until one day you get the first punishment : chat restriction.

That's what happened here those three chat logs are what got you punished, but what impacted that decision is the fact that you had a sufficient history of toxicity.

I was playing norms. MMR doesn't apply in norms. I've been matched with diamonds and bronzes in the same game. Also, wanting to give up isn't reportable as long as you're still trying.

You can want to give up all you want. The second you start trying to get others to also give up you are creating a negative environment for your team and having a negative attitude - both of which are reportable.

They already gave up. The people on my team said we can't win. I wasn't trying to get people to give up. I was asking them to surrender because no one thought we could win the game. Also, I said "I'm not grouping" because my team kept bitching at me. After I said that, they told me to go split push top. So no, I wasn't breaking any of the rules. Don't assume things when you don't have enough information to make an inference.

Also, the chart says "extreme toxicity" due to "trigger words and phrases". If you don't know, these are the trigger words:

Judging from what you are saying, you believe the standard report system works on keywords? Only the "zero tolerance" system is a keyword seach. Anything else, the system searches for toxicity in the form of negative attitude or harassment.

You have a giving up attitude, passive aggressiveness, and harassing others as well. Your friend kind of has the same attitude as well.

Lol dude read the chart, that's exactly why if you follow the chart you go by the "No" branch here and end up chat restricted. "fuck you", "dipshit" and so on are not hate speech so you don't directly get the 14d ban but you still "advance punishment tier one step", which in your case is a chat restriction ( because you're account has a sufficient history of toxicity since you're saying that for years according to what you said ).

That's normal too.

The system shows you 1-5 recent games as examples of unacceptable behavior. Doesn't mean you were punished for those games alone.

They always had the zero tolerance policy. That's irrelevant because it only applies to slurs that are racial, homophobic, etc. which i didnt use above

10 steps foward, 9 steps back. After 1000 steps, you'll still be 100 steps forward.

Your "toxicity meter" does decay with games played, but if you've recently had a spike in toxicity, that will certainly be a contributing factor.

It is also possible that Riot has tweaked their formula on what % of games you need to be validly reported in inordered to get punished faster. But the sensitivity hasn't changed,

Catching toxicity faster is certainly NOT unproductive, as you suggested.

Yes the system has escalated in punishment frequency and severity ever since this preseason. All you can do now is roll with the punches. That means conforming to riot's idea of what is acceptable chat usage and what isn't, or else you risk punishment.
