Can someone please explain this to me
I was looking forward to the Yorick rework since I first saw it on the PBE, I even bought Yorick a week in advance, that's how excited I was for him. But, when I went to play him everything just went wrong. I have now played 7 games of Yorick, and I have lost all 7. Why? Well, take a look at these scores from my games with him:
Game 1: 7/16/9 Nidalee, 9/19/9 Varus, 3/8/10 Yorick as myself. It was my first game, so of course I wasn't going to do well, especially against a Jayce top, but I did better than the 16 death Nidalee and 19 death Varus feeders.
Game 2: Next game I tried him jungle, 7/8/4 score but a Middlesticks that went 3/10 and a Singed with 3/9. This game was pretty close tbh, so I don't really blame my teammates as much for this one, but this game is the one that enforced the trend of feeding teammates while I'm just trying to learn.
Game 3: I went 1/4 against a Nasus (who by the way gets 6 stacks off of my minions, which I didn't know until after the game) who had 200 stacks at about 10 minutes. Lucian went 0/5 and Nocturne went 2/7/1. Nocturne also repeatedly called me a 'tryhard' for wanting to win in normals and told me to go play bots because I obviously didn't know how to play Yorick or to go play Ranked if I was going to actually try to win. 3rd time Yorick in ranked? No one wants that. I play normals to learn because bots and customs teach you nothing except how to abuse the bots stupid AI to win games in 15 minutes.
Game 4: My team sucked. Flat out. We had a total of 1 kill in the entire 20 minute game, to the enemy's 17. I sucked too. I get that. What I don't get is the mentality that it's ok to play like complete trash because it's a normal. I was learning Yorick. Viktor was learning Viktor. But Kha, Lucian, and Thresh were all at least level 4 on their champions. I expect them to have at least some degree of knowledge about their champion if they've put in around 20-30 games.
Game 5: I went 6/7 this game, against a Yasuo who kept trying to all in me under my tower and kept trading kills back and forth. But then there was the level 5 Vayne who fed 1/10, the Soraka with 8 deaths, the Udyr who kept trying to invade the enemy jungle and dying, and the Leblanc who did nothing but farm...as a Leblanc. She never roamed or tried to get a kill in lane. She had 1 assist by the time the game ended. As an assassin.
Game 6: 2/8/2 Nidalee. 1/5 Yasuo 'ADC'. 2/6 Syndra. 1/4 Voli. 2/4 me as Yorick. Again, I know I didn't do well this game, but neither did my team, and after 6 games of this, I was getting tilted to hell. Always people saying "don't take it seriously, it's normals".
Game 7: 3/4/2 Yorick. Azir did well, for once someone that didn't feed out of their ass. We almost won. Except for the Yasuo jungle that AFK'd after he got executed in the jungle, the 2/6 Jhin, and the 2/8 Heimerdinger. Multiple times people told me that they don't give a shit if they lose the game. They said that if I wanted to win I should go play ranked. They said that I was ruining their 'fun' because I was taking the game too seriously.
I swear to God, these types of people make me want to drink some bleach. Yes, it's a normal game and not a Ranked game where your rating is on the line. But I'm not going to first time Yorick in Ranked. I need to practice him. "Practice in bots" they said. Yeah, I did, and it took me about 3 seconds to understand how his abilities worked. That's the extent of learning that you can get from a bot game. There is no lane phase, there are no jungler ganks, there are no lanes that fall behind, there are no towers taken. It's a giant game of 'kill the bots as fast as you can' which teaches you nothing about how normal people play the game.
Why should I have to be the one to put my feeding teammates on my back when I've barely played any Yorick? Playing as top lane no less, the least impactful lane in the game? Am I just cursed with bad luck every time I play Yorick? Riot needs a damn checkbox when you queue up that selects either "I want to try to win and practice something" or "I just want to fuck around" and only queue you with those same types of players. Otherwise, I feel like I may never win a game as Yorick.
