They very intentionally worded it: 'The indefinite banning of Tyler1' and not 'The permanent banning of Tyler1'

Indefinite not clearly defined or determined; not precise or exact:

Permanent existing perpetually; everlasting, especially without significant change.

idc, if they unban him or not, but don't spread fake information.

You are right of course about the wording. You are wrong if you assume that this changes anything.

Because permanent or indefinite, ultimately, ITS RIOTS DECISION. Because newsflash: They own the place, they own the accounts, its their property. And Riot is going to decide according to what the players, the community, wants to see.

Because, and now comes the big surprise: They are a service company, and a service company makes more money, if it makes a majority of its customers/clients happy.

Now take a look at the general reaction threads like this get from the community, and tell me your best guess, wheter or not the Tyler Fanbois will see success any time soon.

Because we live in a society where people allow you to break the rules as long as you are famous. Look at his fanbase, had he been doing any of that flaming, feeding, and general shit in their games, or someone was doing something similar, best believe they would be on the forums, crying about how the trolls ruin this game and keep them bronze or some shit.

But when it isn't happening to them, when they find the person entertaining, whatever, they deserve and should be allowed to break all the rules.

I have never been a fan of Tyler1, but i recently watched a bit of his streams and stuff and he really changed from the guy he was a while ago.

He will not get his accounts back. Ever.

But he should be free to create new accounts. Overall, he put much effort into changing and it worked.

That's exactly why his prior accounts should and will never be unbanned.

But as he does nothing wrong anymore, he should be able to create new accounts and play the game.

That would be the case if Riot had decided that his actions only justify the permanent ban of all his accounts.

But they did not do that. They decided, that his actions justify a LIFETIME BAN.

And the justification for this decision, was: His past actions.

Now, at this point in our reasoning, I have a question for you: His past actions, for which he got a lifetime ban, did not change. So why should Riot change their decision?

They undid Jensens bad, which was PERNAMENT.

It's interesting how regularly this argument shows up, given how wrong it is, and how easily it is countered.

Jensen got a permanent ban on his accounts. He was free to make new accounts as much as he wanted. He was banned from professional tournaments but there was no lifetime ban on making new accounts in his case.
Tyler has a permanent ban on his accounts AND A LIFETIME BAN FROM THE GAME ITSELF

The situation is completely different. Jensen was never prevented from making new accounts, just from entering tournaments, because leagues public figures have to show exemplary behaviour. That ban was later revoked (as have other tournament bans in the past).

In short: Jensen never had a lifetime ban on the game. Tyler does.

End of story.

That is good, he should have put in that effort to clean up his act before he got permabanned....19 times.

Keep the permabans on the accounts, but there should be some path back from bans on your person.

People do grow and mature. This isn't just for tyler1.

Of course if people get any account banned ever again afterwards then lock em up for life.

Something like a 2 year personal ban, with one chance to come back afterwards would be fair. Nobody is snubbing their nose at the prospect of a 2 year stint.

Many of us are different people than who we were two years ago. This would provide a sizable amount of time for the player to gain perspective.
