Riot banned my friend for greifing, from leaving due to extreme bullying / harassment.

Riot's a joke. Check out this ban.

She was escalated to two week ban punishment. On an account with no prior punishments since yasuo patch, when it was created.

The reason given was for "griefing" of which, the only two matches that could be referenced are her first two ranked games where, she very clearly was being harassed to an extreme extent for a bad game, where her and I were being camped bot 4/5 v 2 without any assistance. I asked them to stop, and they continued. As riot says, the damage was already done, and muting wouldn't have made her play any better. This was her first time in ranked and was not accustomed to the extreme toxicity that is common place in ranked, but they are punishing her for it. A manual review would have found the reports false. I stayed and reported the players harassing her, but they are still free playing league, being toxic. For a company that tells its employs to respond with "We have a zero tolerance policy." those players that brought her to tears should have permanent bans for their extreme toxicity.

Leaving is wrong, but she didn't do it to grief, reading just her chat, would have revealed that. Riot is using griefing, to insta punish players without exerting actual effort into judging cases. This would have never lead to a punishment in old tribunal.

I linked the previous post I made for additional details. Would love to talk to an ACTUAL employee from riot.

Greetings Summoner,

This account has been temporarily suspended for two weeks after being manually reviewed and audited for an unusual spike in negativity. Every account punished by this initiative was personally reviewed by someone at Riot to ensure accuracy.

After having reviewed your account, the decision to issue a 14-day suspension was made due to the extreme cases of toxicity we found, which included verbal abuse, intentional feeding, and leaving matches to grief teammates. This type of toxic behavior has no place in League of Legends, and we will continue to punish players who exhibit this behavior.

Do keep in mind that suspensions are issued on 24-hour cycles; this means your suspension will be lifted at the same time of day it was issued. This will be within an hour or two of the time you received your suspension.

"Every account punished by this initiative was personally reviewed by someone at Riot to ensure accuracy"

5 bucks says the janitor reviewed it and just spammed "punish" so he/she could go back to sweeping.

TBH i dont think the other team camping you counts as harassment and i wouldnt use the adj extreme cuz ive def seen worse. but i mean if she wasnt enjoying the game riot banning her isnt the worst thing that could possibly happen anyways.... also there is a mute button so if she chose not to use it she shouldnt be upset at what she knew was going to happen

Buy her Overwatch and tell her to play Mercy. She'll know harassment there.

P.S. A mute button exists for a reason.

I am sorry that this happened to her, but leaving is not acceptable, under any circumstances. She should have muted, or just ignored them, reported, and moved on.

Leaving a game ruins a competitive match for 9 other people. She will have to take the punishment as a consequence of her actions. In future, inform your friend to be careful, because her next punishment tier is a permaban.
