Honor system working as intended... and thats a shame

Just had another game where the star player, who I would not be wrong in saying won the almost game by themselves, was the most abusive jerk ever. During loading screen I saw they had honor 5, and man I feel dirty having been on the winning side. I reported them for the nonstop abusive text but I have no worries that they will not be punished because they were the most honored person after game.

I was insulted by my entire team when I suggested maybe they should not be so rude in all chat. What I said was "pls stop insulting bot nonstop, were under tower dying" I was insulted by the person they were ridiculing. IDK if they were all a premade or what, but I feel like a shitbag after winning that game, just because I was on the same team as them.

I feel like less of a good person after having played that game.

The honor system has no impact on the instant feedback system, it's the other way around. The instant feedback system dictates to the honor system to make adjustments when people misbehave. If he keeps flaming, he'll get a punishment.

Valid reports slow down honor gain and bans reset progress. This is working as intended in that riot removed the ability to receive ranked rewards unless a player is Honor level 2, meaning that no matter how good you are at the game you won't be rewarded for it in Riots eyes.

Just keep reporting and don't let the boards discourage you, the system is flawed and needs improvement but it does work. Most threads posted on here about it being broken usually end with the OP throwing a tantrum and revealing why they got punished.

Post game honors only add to the base honor you get that game. If they were truly dishonorable and a dick, theyll get very little honor for that game. If they show a habbit of it, theyll go right down to honor 0. Being level 5 and getting post game honors doesnt protect you.

There are a few possibilities:

  1. He tilted for just the one game.
  2. He mostly plays with premades who don't report or call him on his behavior.
  3. He's gotten lucky and mostly run into players who equate performance with honor.
  4. He's gotten lucky and usually has teammates who mute everyone as soon as the game starts and don't report him because they don't know they should.
  5. He's gotten lucky and his teammates either forget to report him or don't bother because they think reporting won't do anything.
  6. Account sharing/boosting/compromise and the player doen't care what happens because it's not their account.
