Dear Silver Players: Please Take League Seriously.
I want to start off by saying, the title of this post is kind of misleading. (In a way) I am all for the fact that "It's just a game". I too believe that video games are a privilege, not a priority. (unless you want to go pro or you're some money-making streamer. Props) But when I step into a ranked game, I am under the impression that it will matter. Ranked stats are recorded, and give you a sense of accomplishment in some ways. Not to mention prizes! In season 4, I was Gold. Yeah lol, I haven't played that much. But I'm starting to get back into it. I'm your average league player. Certainly not best, but I have confidence that I'm not bad. Granted, it was only Gold 5, but I made that climb to the best of my ability. This season, I was once again placed in silver. I've played 40 games so far, I made silver 3, and then dropped back down because of trolls. (some games were just bad teamwork or match up or luck. w/e)
Down to the point, my wish for Silver players is to show courtesy to the players who actually do want to climb higher on the league latter. And no, I don't mean being nice, sportsmanlike, team players. (although of course that's always nice) What I mean, is to SAVE CASUAL PLAYING FOR NORMALS. I've had people playing SHOTS, (drinking every time they die [or get a kill]) being "bored", thereby playing a champion they're not good at (and ending 0/11/3) and being ON DUTY FOR CONFERENCE CALLS. KNOWING that they're gonna be called, and end up missing THREE teamfights (we actually could have won) because they sat afk in base to take the call. I don't know if it was a lie, but afk is afk. And yes, there ARE DEFINITELY things more important than League. But please, don't go into ranked games knowing you're going to (or MIGHT) screw your team over because you don't care. It really makes it not fun for the people actually trying. Please be considerate.
