Perma Ban is stupid for toxicity

Sup guys. So I got banned in August but I thought of an alternative idea that riot should take into consideration. And this idea is...? Not perma banning people. I know it might seem like a viable punishment for a toxic person, but honestly, think about how actually stupid it is. The flaw in this is that people who are permanently banned will never learn their lesson. Like me. I don't really flame people anymore, but the urge doesn't go away because you know you'll get banned on your alternative account. People will just make another account and flame people on that account too. And what does this do for the community? Absolutely nothing. Sure, it's a punishment for some people who have spent a lot of money on the game, but if they love playing league then they'll just make another account and continue to be toxic. The thing is, banning someone for being toxic is just flat out stupid. Most people are assholes, whether you like it or not. And I've met people who are way more toxic than me who haven't received a single chat restriction. There's a flaw in the system and that is that most of the time, if someone is reported a lot, riot won't look at the game or chat. My last game I did to get banned, I said one thing to the enemy Annie (the only one who reported me). And that was "stop being salty and talking in all chat". And I know riot didn't view this game because I got banned two minutes after the game ended. Proving that not only does riot take quantity over quality, but they also don't really take into consideration false reporting. This is bad because sometimes, there are people in a 4 man pre-made queue and if the 5th person says one thing, all of them report him and he gets punished for it. I've seen it happen to youtubers before just because they're famous. It's bullshit riot, and you know it. I know some people are going to say "well you could try not being toxic" but the thing is, for some people, especially me, it's hard to ignore hate that is directed at them. I don't generally like muting people because they can't communicate with me if I really need to, but if someone flames me I flame them back in self defense. And more often than not, it ends up backfiring on me and not affecting them. Now for the alternative I mentioned at the beginning. I talked to a Riot support member about it, and it boiled down to this: permanently take away the chat feature instead of perma-banning. And also add more pings to the game so that people don't have to communicate in chat so much. Because if you permanently restrict the chat, then people won't have the urge to flame in chat (not take it away for everyone, just for the salty people). As long as you have in depth pings, you don't need to talk in the chat. Right now, I really don't like riot. They have poor decision making skills (cough balance team cough) but I think if they did this, my respect for them would rise. And not just because I would be personally ecstatic, but because it's generally a good idea. I mean, I know a lot of people who spend a shit ton of money on the game. I only spent like 200 dollars, but I would love to have my skins back. Well riot, please take this into consideration. I've been sitting here for a long time writing this, and I would hate for you to skip over it without putting some thought into it.

Riot has said before if someone is going to be toxic to the point of getting banned, then they don't want them playing their game. Period. And making a whole new account just to flame people is entirely stupid and you'll get tired of it eventually.

Perma-muting people doesn't stop them from trolling in game.

And Riot has also stated that the number of reports from four man queues hasn't increased since it came out, and if the solo player didn't actually do anything troubleworthy then all four of their reports will be moot and it will end up with riot taking less consideration into their reports.

Don't get mad at Riot because your toxic self got banned on your own accord and you think you deserve something other than that. You made your bed, now lay in it.

I've said it before, I will say it again:

Riot already tried handing out just Chat restrictions. Players who committed chat related offenses would just gain ever longer and stacking chat penalties. This, in theory, would mean that if a player wished to continue being insufferable, they would very quickly find themselves silenced. The reality however, is that those who refused to improve their behavior and learn a bit of basic manners would burn their allotted chat messages, and then just simply then turn to non-verbal offenses (such as int feeding, afk, non-participation, sabotaging teammates efforts, etc).

Multiple reports in a single match do not have a higher chance of punishing a player. 1 Report has the same power as 9 people reporting: It flags a match for review. That's it. The decision to punish and how severe, are based solely upon the flagged player's behavior, frequency of such behavior (per match), frequency of matches with a valid report against them, and their current punishment tier they are on.

I completely agree with this. I think that if Riot wants people to stop being toxic, then taking away the chat from them is a good way to go. However, keep in mind trolling, as some people might turn to that instead. But adding more pings so people don't have the urge to talk in chat was a very good idea. Props dude.

If you were toxic and didn't learn your lesson from the lesser punishments, what did you expect to happen? Just slaps on the wrist forever?

will never learn their lesson. Like me. I don't really flame people anymore

your whole argument is destroyed by yourself. Congrats

if someone flames me I flame them back in self defense

Just a short question: What would you do to "defend yourself" against flame, if you can't flame back?

permanently take away the chat feature instead of perma-banning.

This is nothing new, a bunch of other permabanned people tried to excuse their punishment by suggesting this useless feature as well.

As others said, perma-muted players will find other ways to get their attention as alternatives to toxicity, such as trolling, AFK or Intentional Feeding.

Most people may be assholes, although I seriously doubt that, but most people don't receive punishments. And most of the players that do, don't repeat the mistake.

people low key troll as it is, playing singed and tryndamere split push, or even nasus period, how is that not greifing? forcing your team to be one man short AFTER you fed your lane, then refuse to participate, so many game mechanics are inherently toxic, but you want to ban people for getting upet about a badly designed game. other games have fun in losing, this game isn't, each match is the duration of up to 7 cod matches for example, and you dont have fun, being down in gold, damage, map awareness, etc, these disadvantages dont exist in other games, let alone "sports"
