Hey guys. Kinda new to the game, only my 2nd season. Between yesterday and today, I went on what was going to be a 10 game win streak. However on the 10th game, when we're up as a team by about 25 kills, three towers, and two dragons, the support, thresh, rage quits because he died by the tower. Didn't come back to the game. We lost. All 9 players claimed to have reported him for rage quit, including myself. I went a little farther to look him up. A site I use, said he had 9 AFK's prior to the game we played. So now he has 10.

How many times does a person have to rage quit or d/c before they get banned?

Honestly i'm kinda salty about it all. I've been playing my butt off, and it's payed off. Then some salty kid, ruins a game, and seemly nothing at all happens to him, despite him having a HUGE history of leaving games. In fact, he's in another game as we speak. I'm lost.

No body knows the exact numbers. Riot keeps that information a secret.

Typically, leaves / AFKs are punished by the leaver buster. But when they continuously offend, they'll get additional punishments.

Well, he will probably be suffering from Leaverbuster first. If it continues even with that, he will eventually be banned I believe.

The automated system (Leaverbuster) does not actually ban people for AFKing/leaving anymore. It hands out low priority ques, meaning that the player has to wait for 5/10/20 minutes before entering the que for 5 games. Theoretically, you can AFK every single game you play and not get banned. The only way to be banned for AFKing is if someone from Riot manually looks into it.
