@riot Will you ever be releasing user names of banned accounts.

If there is one thing in League I love it is usernames. Skins and emotes are awesome and cool but something about the expressiveness of a good username resonates with me. I have my eye on the user name "Yaya" and although there is no account with that name It seems to be unavailable. I'm going to guess that this is because the user was perma-banned and I am wondering if I will ever get the chance to grab that juicy name. If not I completely understand. (Also I didn't know what board to post under so here I am)

Edit: Even years down the line will there be a chance?

I love how the person with the username Hatsune Miku hasn't played on that count in forever....

Alright, I'd like to clarify something based on what I've seen. The Question 7 in this FAQ specifically says this:

No. This **account **will not become available for any reason, ever.

######emphasis mine

The account will not become available - but the username still will follow the standard procedure above that in the FAQ. This means that up to 2.5 years after last game (for level 30+ accounts) is the limit on summoner name protection. Once that protection expires, anyone can claim the name with a purchased name change in the store. To my knowledge, that is not impacted if the account is banned - the banned account simply would be prompted to change their name if they ever got unbanned.

I have read that if an account is inactive for 1 years the name becomes available. But that info is old and I'm not sure how you could grab the name.

I'll up- vote and hope someone who is sure comes on.

As far as i know they dont release them due to it beeing part of the punishment. Players tend to build connections to their usernames. When beeing permabanned they loose not only their stuff, but also the identity of the accountname.

ikr whats the point of the account being "active"if its perma banned,we can only expect of the player to request from riot to delete the account in order to be able to use the name again
