New Setting to Help Behavioral Offenses

"One suggestion to put in the next patch would be to add in a setting in the menus that mutes all chat from both teams permanently until you turn the setting off. Adding this feature might be the best idea Riot could ever have in terms of limiting behavioral offenses. As I really only strategically communicate with teammates by using the ping system. I think that if this setting is implemented the amount of flaming would significantly decrease as it can be a task to remember to mute all players before they say anything negative to you. I for one would benefit tremendously from a setting like this one."

I was recently put under a suspension because I retaliated against some flamers on my poor performance in one game. The quote above is straight from a ticket that I sent and the Behavioral Analyst suggested I put this on the boards. The only reason I retaliated the way I did was because they were flaming me. It was all a mistake, I should have muted them in the first place but I did not because I really wanted them to see my words. If this setting becomes implemented it could help me tremendously focus on playing the game instead of focusing on what my teammates are saying about me. I could mute everyone pre-minions immediatly but sometimes I forget and it can be hard to do this in lane if I needed to. I really think this new setting could be extremely helpful for all who want to get better in a behavioral sense. What do you guys think?

Alright well I did not know that /mute all was a thing, but I still like the permanent setting they could implement.

I don't see a problem with this. If /mute all exists anyway, why not just do it properly?

Although I advocate learning self control over using a failsafe like this, I agree that if players want to opt for it, why not?

No, I believe people should learn self control rather than forcing me to have to uncheck another box to talk in chat

  • it doesn't really stop people from flaming You unmute chat thinking your doing good, then enter into a flame war nothing changed

You can already hide the chat youtube it, you can unbind your keys to not type in league etc

/All, to my knowledge, is still an opt in feature that is disabled by default.

Otherwise I feel self control is an important thing, or simply muting the problems. Who knows, maybe you have that one encouraging player and you are missing them say what a sick play you pulled.
