Losing LP after a Player goes AFK

Well I guess I just wanted to know thoughts about an issue that I have found. I am a bit new to the ranked game mode. I have been playing ranked for about a month. I placed into Silver II. Dropped to Silver III and then was just promoted back to Silver II. I have been finding a few of my loses come from a player going afk and due to the afk we do not have the ad or ap to carry to the win and finally I lose LP. I understand that we lost yes but only because someone just flat out quit. This one player screwed our entire team just because he quit. I just want to know some thoughts from some of the more experienced players in the League community. Thanks everyone!

did he go afk because he was feeding? did he go afk because he was a troll? did he go afk because he had something happen to his connection? did he go afk because he said gg and didnt want to play anymore?

the reason for going afk is a small list of randomness, but if someone does it intentionally than it shouldnt be rewarded. it was the chance to get that guy on your team. the other team had the same chance too. its actually part of the game. also the report system is too.

No he and I were carrying the team and then he just randomly quit. We should have won the game. It was upsetting because we should have won. If you find my match history it was my latest loss. He was yasou. I was xin. Jhin started to carry after he left but it just wasn't enough. And the chat said he quit not that he got disconnected. And he said nothing about him having to leave.

Well I guess I didn't realize that sometimes it says "quit" if the player actually gets disconnected. I'm not mad about internet issues. I would be more concerned about randomly leaving. I just want my LP gains and loses to be based off of my team's best ability to win, which does not include an afk. If one of them feeds okay, If one of them says "F*CK u guys I'm just gonna feed" then fine he got tilted because we didn't help his lane then fine. But just don't take all the LP away from us if a player's internet dies. You should not be required to buy some really good internet to play a free online game.
