This simply disgusts me in all ways possible. Yes, ranked is competitive but this is just too much. I censored the name for privacy and I don't want a witch hunt. I just want this dude punished immediately. Here are the things he said:

"click r while i'm fucking tanking for you idiot" "fucking actual autism" "kys mf" (the verbally assaulted player was playing miss fortune, probably that or mother f*****) "should be executed in front of your family" ...

Sure he might be an asshole. BUT DID YOU FUCK UP? DID YOU FAIL TO DO WHAT YOU WERE SUPPOSE TO DO AND WHAT WAS EXPECTED. Plus this is only showing one side, for all we know you cherry picked this after trolling him and pissing him off.

This is the kinda of stuff that should be deleted, is contributes nothing to the boards and only provides a fixed and very easily doctored view of another player so someone can get their ego petted.

Long post warning, but I'm annoyed by that case enough to put it here as well and it's related to riot punishment system being inconsistent and shows how much their support stuff not care.

Reported on 30.12, nothing happened. He didn't get punished, so I wrote to the support with the screenshot/server/date of the game/name of the player/etc on january 1st, got the answer that "We will investigate your report and take any actions we feel are necessary, but please keep in mind that we cannot disclose any disciplinary actions that may be taken, due to privacy reasons." and "Please continue to use our in-game reporting system whenever you can. " (I did and it achieved nothing, so WOW, what a great answer!). I asked them multiple times why people skip punishment tiers for writing "kys" to someone and get 14 day bans (source: boards, including support responses), meanwhile someone can tell me "get cancer and die" and "hope your mother dies" and they don't get punished at all, let alone they ignore direct reports of cases like that to the support team (asked them again on jan 4th and jan 9th/10th). All they (every time different support answered) keep repeating is:

I'm really sorry for the situation you encountered. I can assure you that this type of behavior is punished by our system, and if it indeed happened it won't be ignored.

So now, despite of me reporting the guy, taking screenshots and writing directly to the support multiple times, they make a claim that "they will punish them if it indeed happened". The thing is, I keep checking the guys op.gg every few days and he's in the game every single day since 2+ weeks when the said game happened.

To sum it up: You claim, if he gets reported, he'll get punished for sure. I say bullshit. And in my case it was INGAME CHAT, not even the after-game one. They """""are investigating it""""" for the past 16 days, while they have all the needed information about it on the plate. They simply don't care. If he skips the automated punishment, he clearly gets away with it.

Ignore the people telling you that it’s normal or that you need a thicker skin. We should improve our community rather than suffer its problems. We can have nice things like politeness, sportsmanship, and humility here. It is a question of standards.

Don’t believe me? Just look at Reddit. It has a little place called r/aww. Everyone there is nice all the time. It’s in the rules. League can never be as calm as a message board of puppies and kittens, but it can be much more like one than anyone here hopes.

It starts with the attitude of those people I mentioned earlier. They have it backward. If harsh, passive-aggressive, or otherwise low-key toxic people can’t stand having to behave, then they need to grow up and get a thicker skin. The rest of us are nice to each other.

Getting skeptical again? Look in the mirror. Think of all the times you said please and thank you to your jungler for a gank or a buff. Think of all the times you emoted to your support for setting up a great play. Think of when someone was losing lane, bummed out, and you cheered them up. Less the trolls, the rest of us do that, too.

The details of how we could make our best behavior the norm are important, and we can figure them out. But that starts with wanting to know them and being willing to follow through. Honor was a step in the right direction. It rewarded the aspiration to be kind. Now, we need to raise the bar of what is alright in League.
