Combining permaban alternatives

In the pas I have suggested several alternatives to chat related permabans. Turns out, they can be combined to keep players in the game.

  1. Create a "toxic" ranked queue as an alternative to solo queue where chat is not moderated and verbal toxicity can't be penalized.
  2. Instead of permabanning people for verbal toxicity, restrict the punished player to toxic queue as means of giving up on them.
  3. Allow player to go full premade in other queues with disabled all-chat.

Improvements: -Unlike permaban, it doesn't motivate people to start over and spoil more games. -More humans are able to enjoy league -Reduces toxicity in all existing queues. -Fixed Riot's concerns about prisoner's island -Punished people are fully allowed to communicate, leaving the room for teamwork

Concerns: -Some players might choose to play only in toxic queue instead of trying to reform, thus reducing players available for matchmaking in other queues. -This system doesn't send a strong message about social justice.

Fixed Riot's concerns about prisoner's island.

It does not, for two reasons:

  • The punished player pool is smaller by far than the normal player pool, reducing match quality, resulting in a worse experience for those players.
  • Punished players have different levels of behavior they're okay with, and different desires to reform -- this makes that harder for those that want to reform to do so.

Some players might choose to play only in toxic queue instead of trying to reform, thus reducing players available for matchmaking in other queues.

This is a big issue, especially if the toxic queue gains a reputation for being easier to climb in.

You missed a concern:

-Does not send the message that toxicity is not welcome or that toxic players should leave the game.

'Cause at the end of the day, that's what the permaban is there for. To tell toxic players that Riot does not welcome toxicity, and since they've gotten to the point of a permanent ban, Riot wants them to leave.

The punished player pool is smaller by far than the normal player pool, reducing match quality, resulting in a worse experience for those players.

It would be comparable to playing on a less populated server. It would also be compensated by players like me, who value their own definition of comfort and play there voluntarily.

Punished players have different levels of behavior they're okay with, and different desires to reform -- this makes that harder for those that want to reform to do so.

This suggestion is only for permabanned players, the ones Riot gives up on.

This is a big issue, especially if the toxic queue gains a reputation for being easier to climb in.

Less populated queue is more volatile. Less populated queue would also have less people at higher tiers, making climbing more difficult. There can be multiple reasons for people to prefer this queue over the normal soloqueue. Each one of them has to be thought through and addressed or be allowed to exist. Having 4-5% players playing toxic queue feels like a correct goal.

Climbing ranked would be too easy in such a low population queue, which would be quite unfair. Such players should not have access to any form of ranked solo queue, or even non-premade normals.

However, I don't mind the idea of allowing such players to play on full premade teams, provided that any lobby with such a player in it has a disclaimer to the effect of "I understand that (player) is in a permanently penalized state. I understand that reporting (player) will have no effect as (player) is already at the highest penalty afforded by the system...etc"

I am not scared, its not fraud and Riot has a problem with it? They can take me to court. I highly doubt any judge will take the side of a Chinese Gaming corporation who has the worst rating on the BB. Come at me bro, clearly you are a polite puppy who is brainwashed by corporate mentality who thinks there are no repercussions by using TOS as an excuse to be lazy, automate and screw legitimate customers because they don't have time to use humans.
