Something as small as calling someone a dumbass or when someone lets you die 3 times in a row for no reason and you call them a coward for refusing to risk their life to win a fight you set up for them. When you start bashing someones kda or telling them to just leave that is what a mute button is for. Things like that should not be reportable, they do nothing to anyone but annoy them. Boohoo grow the hell up. Im not saying that person is not a dick but seriously grow the hell up, this is a game not a diplomatic event, why the hell is it being arbitrated like the slightest hiccup needs to lead to execution.

The most toxic thing in this community is the people who will report at the drop of a hat when you get someone banned for something minor it shows you have power this makes people want more and more. People report over the stupidest shit now. It only will get worse.

I don't know if i am the only one or not who is tired of all the report malphite for being 0 3! inting ! Sona: EZ! come here i have ult! Lets attack them! EZ: ok! Sona: ULTS stuns both of them uses q and passive almost killing one stun ends and she dies ez still farming in the back. Three times later. EZ: WHY ARE YOU SUCH A FUCKING COWARD?! I am going to support someone else. EZ: REPORT SONA TOXIC!!!! Ziggs: get off my lane. Sona I don't wanna support ez. Ziggs: TOO BAD C*NT GET THE FUCK BOT. Sona: NO! Lane is ganked ziggs dies REPORT SONA! Proceeds to cuss out sona and let her die. Sona goes top and top is cool with it and proceeds to get a double kill with sonas help but the rest of the team spends all game arguing and blaming sona. jungler bot and mid all report sona.

Reports should be something akin to filing a police report. A serious thing that should not be filed over arbitrary bullshit. Your feelings being hurt doesn't matter, the mute button exists for petty things. You will never find an example of someone being thrown in jail for calling someone an idiot.

TLDR: the community is too petty and reports for stupid things which causes more toxicity than it solves because everything they don't like they report for. MUTE PEOPLE.

I put it this way before and I still will:

I mute you so I don't have to deal with your negativity, annoyingness, flaming, etc. I report you so nobody else has to deal with it.

I completely understand where you're coming from, but the thing about punishments for calling someone a "dumbass" etc. is that they aren't given for just doing it once in a while, they are given when it's ridiculously frequent and/or excessive, and they start by giving you chat restrictions instead of bans. While Muting is a really great tool to put a damper on people that want to treat you like garbage or are just frustrated too and taking it out on others, it's not a good preemptive solution; Muting is to prevent more of it from happening in the game, but it doesn't excuse the behavior because once you're forced to use it the person was already likely negatively impacting the game for you. Most everyone is playing to game for fun, they don't come here to intentionally be bad (and often it's just a perception or false blame for being bad), so they don't need to be talked down to and trashed by their own team any more than you want it to happen to you or for you to have a poorly performing teammate that makes the game less enjoyable for you.

While I agree that people are petty in some cases, let me turn this around back at you and ask: Why are you so easily offended by people messing up or you messing up?

I miss my ult, no one dies. Reaction I get: OMFG YOU &^$%^& WTF WE LOST YOU'RE SO ^%$^%^. Someone tells me to push top as a team but 3 of my teammates are mid and top isn't really a good place to push right now. Reaction we get: %#^#& I'LL ^%&#$&% FEED IF YOU DON'T &$$ YOU &$^&^#$!

Tell me who is offended.

Just stick around for a few minutes after every solo q game youll understand the reason people report are not good ones.

The thing is, different people have different opinions about what constitutes toxic behavior, and society as a whole sets the bar a lot higher than you seem to.

It is good to be resistant to that sort of behavior, but not everyone is, or if they are, they still do not tolerate it.

Another noteworthy thing is that people in Overwatch are actually banned for sending in reports over some of the stuff you mention, because it is a waste of people's time who have to look over the bans 1st off, and they believe people should actually have somewhat of a sack and use the mute button if they don't like it. Unfortunately you have people who will always support it because they get off on the satisfaction of getting someone's account permanently banned.
