Can the ranked community be fixed?

Seven games in a row today I've had my experience ruined by trolling and attitudes. I'm not talking about win/loss but every single one has had at least one person deserving of being reported, most 2 or 3. I've played thousands of games dating back to launch so bad attitudes are nothing new but how is it that nearly every single game has someone in it on either side that makes the experience miserable?

The only time I can remember when solo queue didn't make me want to quit the game entirely was when the strict auto-ban system was in effect. From my personal experience maybe for every 100 people that berates their team 1 gets banned. It doesn't seem that there is ANY fear of consequence for people to vent, go off, afk, spam ? pings or otherwise intentionally make another player's experience terrible.

Why is a person allowed to be just enough of an ass to ruin another's game but not enough to get banned? The people who get banned are so few and far between that they almost never affect me, but the fact that there is a toxic player in nearly EVERY single game definitely affects my enjoyment and ability to play League.

Is there something that can be done about the day-to-day toxic players? Should the criteria for short-term bans be much more strict? How can the community be corrected, or do players just have to accept that if they want to play they are going to have a bad time from someone nearly every game?

Good news, friend! I have a quick and easy fix for the day-to-day toxicity you are running into!

If a player is hurting your league of legends experience solely through in-game chat communications, there is a feature built in to stop them from doing so. If you open up the scoreboard, there is a megaphone symbol next to each players name. If you click on the megaphone, it will put a line through it, meaning you will no longer see what they type in chat.

Hope this fix helps you cut down on poor experience via the in-game chat!

League Of Legends and Call of Duty however you look @ it, the toxic players are the TRY-HARDS,( they no-scope troll you for fun, which makes them so immature & yesterday's news. In League of Legends they flat out make no sense, stupid mom jokes & dicks jokes, just childish behaviors.

Being Angry @ someone directly is different than becoming toxic, saying "salt" makes the situation a lot worse than it has to be, which stirred it up even more, ( i don't understand why these kids say that constantly in games.

I did think of one possible solution. An opt-in blacklist system based on player feedback. For example if a player receives negative attitude reports in 30% or more of their games then they are added to the black list for two weeks. Other players could select to have blacklisted players included in their dynamic queue search or not. A blacklisted player would not have the ability to opt-in during the period that they are on the list.

The trade off being that you could choose longer queue times in turn for not being matched against players whom the community has deemed toxic. If you don't care or if you want the faster queue searches then you could choose to not opt-in.

This method would also offer some insightful analytic data to understand player behavior and community acceptance.

There are way more additional causes to make players frustrated this season, and that is going to contribute to their likelihood of acting negatively. It is very challenging for riot to identify all trolls - especially when trolls are learning their ways around the system.

In an ideal world, after everyone has played infinite amount of games, trolls who lose all the time would be stuck at bottom of the pit playing with other trolls while non-trolls would climb and play with normal players. However, players are going to suffer indefintely before that happens, and that frustration can lead them into joining the trolls or ragequitting.
