I see this all of the time. The vast majority of players don't know that multiple reports in a single game makes no difference.

ur wrong 1 = 9 IN THE SAME GAME

Nope, if riot made a game mode where there were 10000 players in game 1 report would still be the same if 10000 reported that one person, 1 report triggers the system.

This is what riot claims, to discourage people from not begging for reports, but whether this is the truth or not remains to be seen.

They have shown the coding, lol why does everything have to be a conspiracy theory these days.

Whether the coding is the actual coding that they use, or for the public to be seen, remains to be seen.

Whether you are secretly a humanoid lizard from Mars trying to spread mistrust among humans to make them weaker as a species remains to be seen.

Please. You are already weak without me having to spread anything.

Oh, the innuendos.

Can you provide a concrete reason as to what Riot gains by lying about this? I would love to hear it.

xPhantomDancerX2 votes

Like I said, possibly to discourage players from begging for reports. I don't really care one way or the other. Oh that note, did you know begging for reports is a reportable offense?

Modi2 votes

Yes, I did know that. The vast majority of players know that (otherwise there wouldn't be hundreds of threads, there would be thousands or millions of threads per day).

You still haven't answered my question, though, what does Riot gain? If it's just "discouraging asking for reports", then it doesn't seem to have any benefit...other than what is intended...to get people to stop begging for reports.

xPhantomDancerX1 votes

Discouraging people to stop begging for reports decreases the amount of false reports that can be made. In this case, if riot were basing the relevancy of reports by the number of reports, this would help exponentially in sorting out genuine reports from fake reports. Does that answer your question?

But that doesn't explain your 'but that remains to be seen' comment. To me, you are only validating their efforts. They gain a benefit from fewer reports, yes. What do they gain by lying about "1 report == 9 reports"? If it is only fewer reports, then I don't see how that is a benefit.

If that was the only benefit, then they would likely suffer from from the bystander effect, where people just start saying to themselves "Someone else will report them". If that is the case, then the statement (whether true or false) is counter productive. To me, the only logical reasoning for them to say it, is because it is true.

Indeed. You are right, of course.

What they have shown... is not code.....lol Its a part of what could be code in c++. By itself it is just a integer trial without context.

Engineering degree in CS.....that's not proof of anything and could literally be written in 2 seconds. Not saying they aren't telling the truth, but that bit of c++ is not valid proof of anything.

To be fair I'm pretty sure this whole new client is a super advanced C++ windows form.
